Where do I even start! this game has been with me since the world went into quarantine. and as you can see from how many hours i have racked up, it is something that is special to me!

Core Game

Space engineers is a game for quite a few different types of people! I myself am not the most creative person, which would probably surprise you considering that i have so many hours in a creative building game. but for me the thing i spent the most time doing in this game was, just simply downloading things from the workshop, changing them to my liking, then just messing around with them in creative mode. like making a halo fleet and a covenant fleet using ships from the workshop and then batting them out! Also keep in mind that i don't have any friends that play the game very much, so most of the stuff i did was basically like playing monopoly with yourself.

but the game is just as fun for people who have tons of creativity and can build amazing ships themselves as much as it is fun for people who like games like Rust. You can play on countless community servers, modded or not and have a blast! Space Engineers is not just a game for people who want to build fantastic ships or create the world of their dreams, it is also a game for people who love space combat and just blowing up someone else's stuff!

Developers

As much as people say that the DLCs are a plague on the game, I don't really mind them that much. Even know i am the type to normally hate when games overly monetize updates via DLC. But space engineers is different in the way that they don't make the DLCs each 15 dollars, each one is always $3.99 which when you look at the average price of DLC on steam, is dirt cheap! And without these DLC the developers wouldn't be able to develop the game any further. The DLC is how the developers fund the games continued Development. If we didn't have DLC, we would still be stuck with 2017 Space Engineers!

On top of that you can tell from the Devs live streams that they are very passionate about the game, something that you don't find very often nowadays. You can tell that they love and work directly with the community! They a while back released a completely free community update that added a LOT of community requested blocks and features. I think that the more Developers should take notes from Keen!

Final Summary

This game is not just for people who want something to vent their creativity but also for people who want to blow up stuff and fight other players and for people who don't have much creativity, but who want to mess around with cool ships others have made in a sandbox experience.

This Game has passionate and dedicated developers that want to see the game and community flourish! Even know some people say that the DLCs divided the community (Which it very well might have), The game wouldn't be where it is now if it weren't for the DLCs.
