If you like a good, emotional story, buy this game. I briefly debated on whether or not to give it a good or bad review, but with all taken into account I really do love this game. Coming from a family that has an almost identical structure and heritage to the Diaz brothers, I had an immediate sentimental connection to the main characters. That being said, it really pains me to write that this game falls a little short IMO, mainly because of how politically charged it is. When I play a video game, I want almost a complete escape from the chaos and ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ that us Americans have to deal with no matter where I stand on a societal issue. For me to pick up a new episodic game from a critically acclaimed series, just to find that it's yet another modern piece of art with an incredible vibe that is almost completely ruined by the developers' motivation to send another politically and socially charged statement, is so utterly disappointing. At first, the social cognizance was not really present but as the story goes on you end up realizing what this game is really trying to convey. It's a shame in my book, I would really rather see messages like this somewhere else, even a movie, but for people to say that the developers are "brave" for creating the sequel to another incredible game with undertones that millions upon millions of people are already sending with games is simply wrong. I'd give it an 8/10, because it plays beautifully and really hooks you into continuing, but for all the reasons mentioned previously it loses some credit from me.

By the way, I played only the first episode on steam which is why I have only 7 hours. I played all of the other episodes outside of steam.

Usually never played many point-click, story driven games, but this one has gotten me into some of Telltale's other games, because it's really that good and wish I could experience it for the first time again. If you like a great story with a gripping mystery and awesomely designed and written characters from old fables you've read as a kid, along with constant motivation to continue and interact with such an amazing world, buy this. It is an absolute steal on sale.

One of the best RPGs ever made. Don't get me wrong, it's hard and it takes time to get used to. However, the immersion, graphics, combat, progression, art style, story, and basically everything else about this game is downright beautiful. The music I heard at the title screen made me think this was gonna be a long, difficult journey, and the first boss affirmed that. This is one of the games I'd recommend to absolutely any person who enjoys video games, even if you hate RPGs. You may buy it, die a billion times, get frustrated and put it down for a bit like I did, but soon after start to appreciate the many wonders it offers. Personally, I don't think many games are worthy of costing $60, but this one definitely is, not to mention it's often lowered to $20 during sales which is such a steal. Dark Souls III may not be my favorite game, but it's CERTAINLY one of the best.
