This Game is an Improvement in Every Way.
This review comes from someone who has played all of Fromsoft's other games, disregarding Demon Souls (never fully completed Sekiro or Bloodborne).
Elden Ring is a substantial improvement from every other Souls-Like/ Souls game I have played. This game introduced an entire new standard for hitboxes, bosses, environments, and visuals. This is one of the only games I have ever actually had an audible reaction of "wow, holy balls" when fighting an enemy.
Bosses like my favorite, Godskin Apostle, completely show that something can be cool, gruesome, and beautiful all at the same time. Fighting this boss in the Divine Tower of Caelid had me amazed at the beautiful theme music, disturbed but also delighted at the boss' design, and questioning myself on whether or not I could beat him, where then soon after I accomplished the task on my 9th try. This game might truly be the most rewarding game I have played, in a variety of ways. Could not recommend more if you're ready for a challenge.
