Most of video games are about power, the immersive players will usually play a celebrated and powerful hero, often leaving thousands of vanquished foes in their wake. This basic structure is certainly not unique to games, it is the essential metanarrative that has informed storytelling for generations. In addition, We prefer to accomplish something that cannot be achieved in real like as well as becoming a king or glorious heroes. It seems like human nature. This game, Sid Meier's Civilization VI, is very satisfying that.

Similar to the previous productions, the goal for the player is to build the world’s greatest civilizations by exploring the world, setting new cities, building cities, deploying armies to attack and defend other civilizations, researching new technologies and policies, and engaging in trade and negotiation with other world leaders.

Civilization VI gives the players this kind of unique power straightly: to be a king. The game gives the player the permission to build a kingdom and develop it through several elements, eventually conquer all over the word. This kind of power is also a special experience, a person is able to do something that they would not have the means or ability to do in real life. To be specific, The growth of citizens needs food and houses, meanwhile, the food needs to be allocated and collected by citizens, also houses needs to consume productivity to be built. However, the development of cities will be in deadlock if the food and productivity provided by incorrect territories. This game brings immersive experience to the players while letting them understand, at the same time, as a king is not an easy job. In fact, There are very few things you can do in the early period. Consequently, in order to avoid a descent into the dark ages, players have to find a way to trigger memorable moments in history, an encounter with a new civilization, an ascent in technology, an excavation of natural wonder… what is worth to mention is that Sid Meier’s Civilization VI is more focused on encourage players to boldly go out and explore the whole word.

The theme of the whole game is running a kingdom, which depend on several important game mechanics. These contents can be called media texts. No matter what text is, they are all the result of the design semiotic works, and of processes of composition and production. The maker of such text rely on these semiotic work to composed different modes. There are seven major elements in Civilization VI: Citizens, Science, Military, Gold, Culture, Productivity and belief. There are two elements did not be mentioned in this model, Diplomacy and Tourism, because of the less interaction with other major elements. These seven elements can convert each other according to the strength of the transformation to get this model. The red line is a strong transformation, which has a fundamental impact on the formulation of strategic guidelines in Civilization VI; Grey is a weak transformation, only a small impact on the formulation of strategic guidelines.

Overall, Civilization VI continues the hexagon system of the previous game, allowing players to explore deeper strategies as they expand their empire. The spectacular visual experience brings the player closer to the historical context of the game's design. In the diplomatic mechanics that continue throughout the game, the full animated leaders interact with the player in their native language, which makes the player's experience more realistic. Multiplayer and even cloud sharing mode also allow players to compete with other players around the world, test whether their strategies are high-efficiency, and interact with other players. It has to be said that as an immersive game, civilization 6 takes players' sense of immersion and strategy to an unprecedented level.
