Maybe there's something I missed. I wanted to love Boneworks. I wanted to feel like it was worth the 30$. I wanted to have the passion numerous others had. However I could not find any redeeming qualities in this game. The physics are great, and a step in the right direction, but over all your arms feel like jelly and the amount of times the game will bug out really halts any fun to be had. I think with a lot of polishing and time this could be great, and this is a really good test demo for what's to come, but not worth paying full price for in my opinion. Of course, the game hardly goes on sale ever, and if so, not by much. I pushed myself to play an hour and was ready to go further, but at that point why bother? Is the game really good if you have to force yourself through it? I don't want to keep going only to find I still dislike it but be so far I can't refund it. Everything Boneworks does is done better by some other VR game. And I mean everything. The story, the pacing, the level design were all just awful in my eyes, and in the state Boneworks is at I just cannot recommend it for anybody. Maybe if this game has a big sale I'll re-buy it and give it another go, but this is my opinion for now. If you're reading the reviews debating buying this (not sure why you'd wait like I did, but who knows), don't just take it from me. In fact, don't just take it from any of the reviews. A lot of people hype this game up and give it a lot of labels. Please watch a spoiler free playthrough and/or review, and based on that think: "Does this look like fun to me?" Don't make the mistake I did and take people's words at face value. If you see it, and it looks boring, don't get it. If you see it, and it looks super fun and enticing, buy it! Don't force it.

Nah but pretty good game despite rough start and... DRM...

A long time ago I participated in the alpha and beta stage of this game on itch. I loved it. I loved it so much I spent hours upon hours playing it, so much if steam counted it, I would go over the limit. I even emailed MadDog with a suggestion that, as he said, eventually got into the game.

I really appreciate the creativity and passion that went into the game.
oh and as for why you should buy it, you can be a giant vampire trampling through a lab with venus fly traps that hunt humans in the middle of a cannibal forest. And that's just one stage.
Get the game. You won't regret it.

You remember leaning into your old, overheated and dusty computer to an animated stick fight on one of the numerous sites hosting them?
You remember the awe in your eyes, as you pictured yourself as whichever stick was winning?
You remember how the clip would be stuck in your head for the rest of the day?


Get the game already.

This game is you, as John Wick, but with swords AND guns AND shurikens, kunives, etc against robots in the future apocalyptic world.


If you think you could never be cool, pick this up.
