Hunt: Showdown, I've seen some people play it on youtube a while back and my first impression of it was, "Hey this seems like a fun game but I feel like I wouldn't be able to get fully immersed and enjoy it."

years went by and I have forgotten about it and move on, that is until the free weekend 1 month ago came by and I said to myself "Screw it lets see how it fares" (this was also motivated because one of my friends was planning to try out the free weekend but alas he didn't get the time)

So here's my 2 cents perspective during the free weekend and how I've come to enjoy it albeit the whole kerfuffle that happened.

The Positive
During the free weekend, my time with Hunt was relatively short but otherwise very memorable and enjoyable. First time experiencing it feels oddly fun, albeit I immediately play solo as a newbie, it doesn't necessarily ruin the overall game for me. The audio of the game is very amazing, it feels like you can see even without technically looking at it. Footstep, gunshot, explosion .etc feels amazing to hear as it like rumbles down into your position from a direction, it did take a while for me to be able to narrow down where it came from and figuring out whether a hunter is above you or below you.

Gunfight feels very amazing, it has very good impact on hunter and with how many gun variety you have, you definitely will try everything out and see which fits the bill. The game can be a bit rough for a first timer, its somewhat easy to get into but at the same time very difficult to master, although reaching an average skill wouldn't be that difficult as long as you can get the hang of its core mechanic.

The Negative
After experiencing the Free weekend and how its going to end soon, I decided to buy the game against my reasonable judgement and oh boy it feels like I got punished by my impulsive decision. Somehow, by who knows what, my playing experience was straight to the gutter. Frames dropping, game freezing which led to being forced closed, the reconnect being a coin flip (when you reconnect you will either get into your game quick or you are stuck in seeing the world grounds without trees or any other object) and lastly but the most annoying thing that I have experienced, something that I genuinely cannot comprehend, since most other games i played doesn't have this. The mouse sensitivity somehow has a force that is pulling it in the opposite direction of where you are moving, if your FPS dropped by a small amount. It killed my drive for a while.

I mean sure lower FPS mean your aiming will be ♥♥♥♥ at like 25 or lower, but this one is different. Lets say you can consistently reach 120 FPS but they go down depending on the place because of heavy rendering, stuff like that. You set your FPS to 120 or unlimited, during a fight your FPS goes under 120, now you flick to your left to aim at the enemy. BAM you fire a shot but your crosshair is not at the enemy nor overshoot his position even though you swing it like you're throwing a javelin in the Olympic. Your crosshair is there, on his right and now you are sent to the death screen summary.

This little bug (if you would even call it that, probably just a weird engine quirk), makes me insane after being handed crashes, unstable FPS, crashes and being bodied by a bunch of 6 star players because of the matchmaking system back to back with my friend. Sensitivity being pulled in the opposite direction of where you are looking is something I have never met nor experienced, until now. It just feel off and something that I think shouldn't be happening(?) Having your frames drop below your cap but is still in a playable frame shouldn't impact aiming at all.

My Final thoughts
Since I am writing this, I have gotten back to playing Hunt. Even after all the beat down I had, the weird issue, the performance being bad, Hunt is still quite an enjoyable game without the issue. The performance has gotten better after the patches they put out. UI is a bit better, that is if you don't spend a lot of time touching it.

This game is definitely a diamond it just need some polishing and improvement. The engine upgrade, albeit i wasn't there during the old engine, seems to be received positively.

The game did get review bombed during its 1896, but i think that's just mostly because of the UI and hiccups that came with the engine upgrade. I also agree that the new UI is bad given the amount of clicks and navigation you need to go through to just do a simple action.

A fun game that got overshadowed by UI and technical issue.

~P.S
I wish I had friend to play this game with, playing with randoms and listening to them speaking another language you don't understand makes you feel more useless on top of having ♥♥♥♥ aim LMAO.

I also still don't know if that mouse sensitivity suddenly becoming a slug on frame below cap is a bug or intended, Nonetheless I still hate it.

During the beginning of Helldivers 2 the game DOES NOT require a PSN account to link. It was optional, because if it were required I wouldn't be able to play with some of my friends. Fast forward to this, PSN account required, if you don't have it you can't play. This is REALLY bad since the game was available for anyone to buy, meaning people from a region that can't make PSN account was able to get the game. Why did Sony decided to have the game be available for everyone when in the future it requires PSN account? Hell if I know, but this ♥♥♥♥ feels on purpose.

I feel sorry for people who bought the game and was having a blast only to find out you can't play the game anymore due to the screw up, I pray you can get your money back.

One of those game that lets you hear the scream of an adult shortly followed by a gruesome and graphic neck crunch sound.

Armored Core VI : Fires of Rubicon | My Two-Cents

Fires of Rubicon is my first ever entry to the Armored Core series. Hell, before even knowing the reveal trailer, I know nothing about this game. But here we are, 34 hours in and I ABSOLUTELY enjoy this game so far, I mean cmon it's a mech game, and I love mechs ever since I was a wee boy. I got introduced to big robots fighting on the PS2 with the game "Gundam Versus". And well, this game fills in the spot for my missing PC Gundam Versus game. I came knowing the game will be difficult but oh boy, I was thrown and thrashed in the early game. My first impression was "♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ this is a lot more difficult than Fromsofts' other game", constant barrage from the biblical missile dispenser ending my AC makes me wanna just yeet out from a 5 story building or step really hard on a single lego brick. I was having major skill issue, then I realized half-way the reason I keep getting destroyed was because I moved my camera during Hard lock, turns out it screws your aim, I feel like an idiot for realizing that.

Gameplay

The gameplay loop is very simple, you shoot things while trying to avoid getting shot, you go do mission contracts from the corporation, get money, and use that money to drip out your AC. Don't take lightly on the enemies, they can mop you up especially the special type like the MT Tetrapod. Speaking of dripping out your AC, there's a lot of armor, weapons and maybe other stuff that you can equip. You can be an AC with 2 minigun, explosive focused AC, off-shoot biblical missile dispenser AC, or Tank. However, you also need to balance out the stats from all of your parts, otherwise you might have a huge weakness on a certain aspect of your AC.

Conclusion?

The game is fun, I like fun. The game is challenging, I like the challenge (although sometimes not). It's a mech game, I like mechs, especially fast action packed mech games. Overall, my two-cents for this game is a definite Get it if you're familiar with Fromsoft other games. Bear in mind, this isn't really like dark souls or the soulsborne genre. Sure it borrowed some element from the previous game, but from my perception and view, it doesn't feel like it. I might be blind, but the whole vibes really gave me a "different game", besides the bosses seems to want your existence to cease.

In the end, I rate this game "$60 Decal manipulating tool that came with a free game"/"happy child noise"

I swear the frontline gamemode is just a bunch of ant swarm circling the same 3 objective over and over and over again. Kinda hilarious if you ask me

I rate this game "Never going to let a sentient waffle use a katana" out of "It's definitely not the difficulty change vote we did"
