Ancestors Legacy is a squad-based RTS game developed by Destructive Creations and published by 1C Entertainment. The game was released on 22 of May, 2018 and (from my knowledge) it wasn't as successful as the developers have hoped, although it's far from a failure.

I've written my review earlier, and then realized that it was too long for Steam's standards, since I wanted to make a tl;dr version of it at the end anyway, I'll just write that.

1. Gameplay
- The gameplay in this game feels really good, the rock-paper-scissors mechanics of the units intrigue me, however some cons are the fact that formations are stiff and don't work like in say AoE2.

2. Graphics
- The graphics are not the greatest, but they are still well made for me, and the aesthetic of the units and the environment compliments the UI very well. While not being too impressive, as far as RTS games go, it's one of the more graphically advanced game on the market today. The only issue I have with it is the lack of customization regarding the colors, which are limited to blue (you), green (ally), and red (enemy).

3. Story/Campaigns
The cutscenes, the missions, the characters are all done very well. I've heard a complaint from a couple reviewers that the voice acting sucks in this game, and while voice acting is certainly not top notch, it's far from what the critics say, ant it's done very well actually, the lines are memorable and quotable. The cutscenes are stunning and I recommend you check them out if you're thinking of buying the game, I have nothing but good things to say about them. The missions are medium length, and are better than your tipical RTS campaign, though the AI knows to cheat sometimes, and while it doesn't make the missions harder, it just makes them a bit longer.

4. Music
The soundtrack is just amazing, it's hands down one of the best soundtracks in video game history I say. I still listen to the songs every day just because how good they are, I think that soundtracks are important in video games because it does effect them on an ambiental level, and for an indie game, the soundtrack is made fantastically. I recommend you go and hear it for yourself.

5. Conclusion
Ancestors Legacy is a Decent game, it's one of my favorite indie games, though I'd still recommend you try it when it's on sale unless your really want to support the developers. The biggest downside in this game I'd say is the fact that developers have abandoned it and have left it all for the modders. The multiplayer is dead (aside from the occasional pro that will wreck you under 30 minutes), and it seems as though there will be no upcoming DLC. It's very unfortunate to hear, because this game is very well made, and the fact that it's good just makes me crave for more. I would very much like to see an Ancestors Legacy 2, because I believe it has the potential to be a masterpiece.
In conclusion, Ancestors Legacy, while being flawed is a very well made indie RTS game, and if the pros overwhelm the cons, I suggest you buy this game, for me, it's the best birthday present I have received in a long time.
