Just buy it, there's no going wrong with this one

This is a great game, there's very little not to like. Even the story, which is not as compelling, isn't necessarily bad. The only thing I don't like about this game is the music, especially the music on the start screen: it's really depressing.

30 hours later, Ive finished my first playthrough... awesome game, but the DLC was off the entire time. Something was off, I could tell, because when I clicked on 'DLC' in the starting screen, nothing would come up. I didn't give it much thought though. Now I have checked and unchecked the box several times, restarted my computer, cleaned the cache. But nothing turns on the damn DLC. Which means I feel extremely ripped off.

I absolutely love this game. To be honest, I am not a hardcore fan of rts games, although I have my fair share of hours playing the AoE games. This game, for me, has enough depth and is complex enough to make it into a great simulator. If you are looking for a casual gameplay, althought there's definetely a learning curve, this game offers it, if you are looking for a more historically and in-depth experience, count on it as well. The historical period is also my favourite: WW2.

I'll be the fisrt to say that, out of my 140~ hours, I played the first 50~60 with cheats. Although it made it slower for me to learn all the mechanics and possible strategies in game, it was a blast, turning Brazil (my country) into a military force capable of taking over the US, or helping the Allies beat the Axis: priceless!

I haven't played HoI 3, so I have no way to compare it. If you come from HoI 3, you should just ignore my opinion. but if it is the first time you are playing a game like this, go for it. The way I see it, not many thing I bought for R$45 (got the game on a Steam sale) gave me so many hours of entertainment and were so much fun.
