As someone relatively new to Metal Gear (I've only played Rising and Peacewalker prior to this), this was a blast from top to bottom and although it's held down by awful controls and difficulty spikes,I still think this is the best MGS so far, from the amazing bosses,a "killer" soundtrack, to the deep and personal story to just the sheer amount of work and detail that has been put in this,it is a stunning accomplisment by Kojima and a staple of the stealth-genre. I only wish that they still made such great games nowadays, but with the remake on the horizon,who knows? It might even get better. 9/10
