I'll start this by prefacing two things, I've never taken the time to write a review before, and I may come off as overly cynical-probably because I am. With that being said, take from it what you will. The game was very difficult for me to get into, even though I had become fairly interested in the preceding months before launch. The leveling process was tedious and dry, and there were very few meaningful interactions with players or NPCs alike. Basically the same dungeon experience as most newer MMOs, queue up-complete-leave, without a word said.

After I managed to drag my way to level 50, the first enjoyable experience showed itself. Chaos dungeons. In the beginning they were great, albeit short and thus a very small percentage of what you'll have to do if you want to remain efficient. Then came the guardian raids... My god what a nightmare, non stop mechanics, haphazardly jumping bosses that often have tells that are easy to see... you know like, his toe wiggled, or the hair on the back of his ears stood up, very typical RPG style stuff. Don't worry though, only you'll get one shot if you mess up here, unless your groupmate was standing next to you, oops. As if that wasn't magical enough, then came abyss dungeons. You'll want to overgear at least two tiers before jumping in on them, because if you don't have the reaction speed of a desert mouse on crack, you're dead. If your entire group doesn't either, you guessed it, you sir.. are dead. Now wait a minute, you might asking yourself, isn't there some kind of mechanics to help, some kind of items to use to benefit the situation? Well, there are, in fact there's about 100 different items to use, most of them you'll probably have 1-2 of, and you'll need a whole lot more if you wipe consistently. And mechanics? Well, if you can manage to hit your counter ability in the bosses face and in the .25 second window that the boss turns blue and conveniently away from you, then yea you got this. He'll fall down for about 1.5 seconds and let you get confident enough to be casting an ability when he stands up and slaps you into the earth.

I'm not really sure what else I can say, other than.. oh yea, the gear 'progression.' I'm sure some of you have played games like BDO and maybe are familiar with the RNG systems of farming thousands of materials to fail enough times that you nearly spontaneously combust. Well, here's another one, and if you can muster months of grinding the aforementioned chaos/abyss dungeons, guardian raids, and so on, then this might be the game for you. Either way, good luck, as for me I feel that my time here is done. I can't say I didn't enjoy any of it. If it's free what can it hurt in the end, just know what you're getting in to, and make the best decision you can.
