Aside from some goofy dialogue this feels like both its own game as well as a spiritual successor to Ace Combat. Bought this as a reward for doing well in the fall semester 2020 and have not looked back. Jose Pavli absolutely nailed the score and it's tough to find a competitor.

For a ten year old game it holds up phenomenally. It's not crazy intense like modern games, which I find as a positive, and does not require a high spec computer to run.

THE ONLY ISSUE I have is that the game will crash randomly without notice. Sometimes I will go a couple hours without a crash and others it'll be once every five to six minutes. On occasion, the crashes are bad enough to require a full shut down of the computer. I leave this open to comments for anyone who's got a big enough tech brain to give me (and anyone else) a solution for this problem.

Overall, great game, fun to play, just a couple tech fritzes here and there.

Personal experience of playing since 2015 is that the grind is just not fun at all (I mean of course it isn't, I haven't spent any money on this game and it's a free-to-play). The developers do a great job at throwing new content at the player every quarter, however, the lack of quality-of-life changes has a rather negative impact on enjoyment and gameplay. Additionally, burnout happens faster usual in this game, as if you're not great at the game then the grind becomes ceaseless just to move one vehicle forward to the top tier. Maybe my gripes are due to the fact I'm not great at the game, but I do think that some quality-of-life changes need to take priority in an update, not the new vehicles. The grind won't disappear overnight if there isn't new content, but it might become more fun if 1.103 acts more like "Operation Health" from R6 rather than "Operation S.U.F.F.E.R." as players deem the summer grinds.
