Loved it!

AvP offers 3 short campaigns where you will mostly be going through the same places, but different perspectives and each perspective will be offering you a different experience.

Playing Marine will be more horror oriented, where you're moving around in the dark corridors and fighting off waves of Xeno's. There's some slower moments here too and it can be a little unnerving for sure. Armed with some classic Marine weponary and of course the scanner, you will have to keep your eyes peeled constantly, looking out for Xenomorphs coming out of vents, crawling on the ceiling and charging you. Get used to the scanner constantly beeping, though!

Playing as Aliens you will mostly move around through the vent systems or ceilings, mostly sticking to darkness and attacking people when they don't expect it. You can of course charge in head-first but it will be a lot more difficult, especially on higher difficulties.

As a Predator, you will be using your wide arsenal of destruction, all the classic gadgets you would want are here. You're an ambusher, but combat is highly viable here also.

Each campaign takes place in the same locations like I said before, but the objectives are different, and ultimately the goal will be different too, of course.
Both Aliens and Predators have access to special kill animations and... They're brutal af! It don't matter how many times I play this game - I can never resist those animations!

The game is fairly short, but really fun! What saddens me a little is that there's no real facehugger gameplay here as Aliens, like in the older AvP game.
It almost makes me wish this game received a remake/remaster or a continuation but considering the state video games come out recently... I'm kinda happy we didn't get one xd

I think this is one of the very, very few Backrooms games that are actually solid.
The snake lady scared the absolute living s**t out of me and I will be replaying it again for sure. Would love to see more content in it!

I mean, you're literally downloading free FPS. What a time to be alive...
All those scam ad's from back in the day "Wahhh, wahhh - just click this not at all fishy button and just download yourself more RAM haha!"
Who's laughing now, huh?

To be entirely honest with you - I played this game back in the day, when I absolutely should not be playing it, and I'm afraid I enjoyed it's sick sense of humour a little too much and now I have no friends.
On the other hand however - I also had a good laugh playing it.

As a responsible adult now, I still think it's hilarious in some wicked ways, but the whole point of it was to poke fun of things and be offensive anyway ;P

Great game! I really like coming back to Monstrum from time to time and it's always just as fun.
Honestly, get yourself MES mod so that you can configure the f**k out of this game and tune the game exactly to your liking.
Hate a specific monster? Disable it. Want 10 tiny Brutes chasing you at lightning speed? Go for it. There's different challenges, some new items, more RNG and so much more, even COOP/PVP xd

The game itself though? If you've ever played it - it's exactly as you remember it.
You're looking for a way out of the ship stranded in the middle of an ocean, you're given a multiple escape routes and you must get to them, repair them by finding appropriate parts scattered around the map randomly (map has some random generation to it as well) and every time you play, you're given 1 out of 3 monsters to go after you. It doesn't get any more simple than that, but it's somehow still fun. Run away, hide or fight - it's all up to you.

One of my absolute favourite horror games to date!

Cry of Fear did not age very well, and if you're jumping into it for the first time, you may find yourself bashing your head against the wall, especially if you're not very used to older Source games.
The game is very prone to crashing, playing in COOP can be really frustrating, having to do all the port-forwarding bs, then facing disconnection issues upon loading, changing levels etc, all that along with clumsy controls is a recipe for getting annoyed if you're either not very patient or simply don't have God's blessing on your side xd

BUT!
In the end, if you manage to play this game, are open minded - I'm sure you will enjoy the journey.
Cry of Fear tells a really difficult story, of a very difficult man. It portrays depression in a very metaphorical way, giving a physical body and voice to each and every anxiety of this poor man's twisted, sickened imagination, but more importantly - it weaponises them, giving them actual weapons.
Playing through this game, you may come to realise that it's clunkiness is deliberate in some ways, which from my understanding is meant to represent the mental struggle and enormous effort it takes to do the most simple of things if you suffer from depression. Each action is a battle, and your body is a battlefield - which you can see in game, with the amount of scars covering your arms when you heal.
A lot more is going to be explored here, like how difficult it may be for depressed individuals to put their trust into other people, as well as how lonely it gets.

The music beautifully underlines the terror and anxiety, often simulating, almost mocking the sound of a beating heart - it's sure to put you in a fight-or-flight mode, which once again is very accurate.

The whole story is beautifully complimented by the many endings of the game, and to keep it spoiler free - your endings depend on your actions and decisions through the game. Some of the endings are nicer than others, whereas others are... Tragic. And I do appreciate the fact that they're there, and that they're the way they are. In case you didn't realise yet - this is a dark, heavy and pretty edgy game, just like the mind of a depressed individual. There is of course a place for the good endings, the bitter-sweet ones, but depression can be absolutely devastating too, and I'm glad that part was also portrayed here, because the pain and struggle deserve to be listened out too.
Story aside, this is also a fairly difficult game mechanically. It can be very punishing and you will often find yourself with too little inventory slots, having to make difficult decissions on what to leave behind, too little ammo, to little healing, and you may sometimes have to resort to running away.
Oh, a little bit of jank is part of the game here, pretty much - so you will see enemies get stuck here and there, and you may find yourself cheesing some things here and there. Don't worry, that's part of the experience lol

Lastly, playing COOP offers a slightly different experience from the single player. You will play a different person and you will play from the back, essentially.

Cry of Fear is a great game! Very scary, atmospheric, with a deep metaphor and a message. It's an absolute classic, and free <3

It's one of those times I wish I could give a mixed review, but unfortunately that's not possible here, so out of the two extremes - I'll leave a positive review.

Abiotic Factor is a really interesting and fun mixture of SCP and Half-Life with a tad bit of roleplaying sprinkled all over it, placed in a semi-open world. You find yourself stuck in a facility during a "containment breach", deep in the kangaroo land. You're presented with a massive, detailed map (pre-rendered, it never changes, but is quite massive) of a facility and need to keep advancing to the next parts of the map which you will unlock fining and crafting appropriate tools etc. There's also some other biomes here, for example something very clearly inspired by the Xen from Half-Life, among a few other things, with more coming into the game in the future.

Graphically, the game looks similar to that of the first Half-Life (once again) except upscaled a bunch. Generally, I must say it looks great! It has that retro feel to it without looking outdated. Oh, and somehow it supports a form of Ray Tracing, in the form of a flashlight, so I hear.
I'd also like to add that somehow, these guys have managed to portray radiation in a very creative way. Usually in games you'll get either the clicking of a geiger counter, OR the grainy screen. Now, for the first option - in some games it makes no sense for the character to have a counter, yet the sound is there. As for the latter - it's not at all accurate. Abiotic Factor does radiation a little differently, where what you see in the game is what your camera would see in real life when radiation particles hit the lens - it looks like tiny, white dots appearing on your screen. I think it's the first time I've seen it done that way in a game, and I dig it. Obviously, this phenomena isn't possible to see with a naked eye, but I'll take it in a video game, I just really appreciate the more close-to-life look to it.

With that out of the way, I'll have to complain about the gameplay-loop here. You will find yourself walking around, collecting loot, building bases, hoarding stuff in lockers and cabinets, crafting and all that... Loot constantly respawns, as well as do the enemies. The combination of these two things really tires me on the long run, just constant hoarding of hundreds of different misc materials, fighting the same enemies respawning in the same places, over and over again... It just makes me tired personally, I have no sense of achieving anything, no sense of progression, it's just constant work, not to say struggle. Even death doesn't really mean anything, as you will just respawn in your base, with the only negative being that you will drop your things (with the right difficulty settings) and need to pick them back up. In that regard I almost wan't to say it plays a little like Rust.
None of this has to be a bad thing - perhaps a lot of people enjoy that gameplay loop, but I personally don't, and despite really liking the premise of the game, I simply find it hard to enjoy on the long run, and it's much easier for me to watch others play it.

Ending this on a positive note - the developers still support this game as of now, teasing new things, adding new things and all that. There's no telling how much the game will change in a year or two!
Ah, also - the game offers Singleplayer, along with COOP as well as custom difficulties, so that's also a big positive!

Very cool game, creative and interesting - just not for me.

Wife's happy, balls are empty, food on the table - what more to wish for?
Made me hungry for some meat at late hours though, so minus points for that :(

Cool game!
On a little more serious note though - imagine Fallout Shelter, with a lot of micromanagement, how a life of Sawyer family from Texas Chainsaw Massacre would look like normally, but instead of Texas, it takes place in London, so instead of a chainsaw - you get The Shank Massacre :D

I'm not the biggest Outlast fan, mainly played the first game and the Whistleblower DLC, enjoyed it, never really cared about the second game because the setting just didn't grab me.
That said, I wasn't expecting much from Outlast Trials, especially when I found out it would mainly be a multiplayer game. However before the game released to Early Access, they offered players a Beta access to try for free, so I checked it out just out of pure curiosity and... I loved it?

The game is in 1.0 now and a lot has changed, mainly for the better I would say.
First off - yes, it is a multiplayer game HOWEVER you can absolutely play it solo, and the game also accounts for that, scaling the difficulty appropriately. So if you're more of a single player kinda guy/girl then you've nothing to worry about, and vice-versa, you will enjoy the game if you like playing with your friends too!

With the general plot of the game revolving around you being a test subject for Murkoff's sick experiments, set in the past before the main games take place - I feel like it's a very smart way for the developers to get away with doing whatever they like and tie it around the original games as they please in a way where the shoe is going to fit. That said - certain characters and events from the 1st game are referenced here where it makes sense. On top of it, thanks to mentioned setting of the game - the developers are able to cleverly give us whatever maps they want, which is a very good thing because it can potentially offer us a lot of different environments and it will always make sense.

Graphically, I have to say the game looks great! Even upon getting like unreasonably close to things, the LOD and the resolution of items seems to always look stunning.
I will have to complain about one specific graphical setting in particular though, that being RayTracing. Before I say anything - yes, my machine is more than capable of running RT, however this game just STRUGGLES to run it, constantly stuttering to the point where the game becomes unplayable. I'm not sure whether or not that issue has been fixed because I just haven't bothered checking it out again, having been let down every time I tried. On top of it, the times when I did play with RT on in this game - it offered absolute minimal difference. The lighting stayed literally the same I feel like, the only real difference was the fact that you could see your character reflecting in the TV screen (which is very situational) and that you could see a (very poorly looking) reflection of yourself in the mirror without having to interact with it (talking about the lobby mirror in your room where you change your character). Most pointless setting in this game I feel like, absolutely tanking the performance for no reason too, unless something has changed.

Outlast Trials offers a lot of different enemies to look out for and they're all well designed and voiced EXTREMELY well, from all the different sounds and grunts, up to the screams and, oh god... Some of the voice lines... I have no idea what sick mind came up with some of these lines, but please adopt me xD

Gameplay-wise, it works like you would expect an Outlast game to work, with some little puzzles here and there, looking for keys, fueling gens and all that.
At the start you will mostly hide and run away before dying miserably, but eventually you get used to the game, and you will start to unlock special rigs and other perks which will make your game a lot easier. For me personally, a lot of the rigs turn the game into something way too combative for my tastes, and the rigs are very, very powerful. I always appreciated the lack of combat in Outlast games, where you always had to resort to running and hiding, whereas here it will very often turn into indirect combat. Thankfully, the new Barricade rig hit that sweet spot of giving me enough tools to survive to feel like I stand a chance, without being combative, though - it's still slightly too good for me with how insanely quick it recharges.
Additionally, when playing in COOP, the game will offer you certain COOP actions, like boosting each other over obstacles to open up a shortcut, something entirely absent from when you play alone, I think that's a fun way to encourage working together. Oh, and also, playing in multiplayer will introduce a new enemy, and I have to say, without spoiling anything - sometimes the "combination" can be very vile, like really hilarious at times :D

The new update also introduced a new Rogue-like mode, it plays very nice in my opinion - offering a challenge for people who got way too comfortable with the game and I'm looking forward to playing it more!
