How your DayZ Cycle should go:

1) start off on official servers and getting used to the game

2) Make a friend sooner or later

3) Eventually move to modded servers using a diff launcher.

4) spend thousands of hours building bases, raiding, trying new community maps and mods, and making enemies.

Overall the best game out to this day. Other games might come along and take your attention for a bit, but you will always end up coming back to DayZ
