TLDR: Trust the process or cherry pick the dlcs, Even if they're all pretty good so far it's a big ask if you're just wanting a certain chapter or champion

Buying a season pass is something people usually do in support of the game and it's developers, but buying a season pass without knowing what EXACTLY you're getting is giving the wheel to them and trusting the process. For a game like this, that means getting cosmetics packs and champion skins for chapters and sub-chapters you may not care about, which is a big ask for $40 USD (not that Warhammer fans aren't used to spending tons of money for paints and stickers). If you have a favorite chapter and it doesn't show up this pack, I feel for you. If your chapter gets a pack or a champ-skin that doesn't feel represented properly to your standards, I feel for you. I don't personally feel like they've done a bad job so far, but because of how many chapters and sub-chapters they'll have to add eventually to satisfy, I don't think it's wise to buy until it's either complete and you know what you're getting, you're a generalist that doesn't have a favorite, or you're like me and you're just putting your wallet forward to support the game.

TLDR: Good Champion skin, Good Chapter pack, but the precedent this sets as the first cosmetic dlc sets a pattern and breaks it. Must have for Dark Angel fans but might not be the best fitting for all

In a nice way, I hope this pack stays an exception to the rule it breaks, because being a Champion pack and a Cosmetic pack for the same chapter has altered peoples expectations for the dlc that follow it already. The skin is great, looks amazing and fits the character it was assigned to, as well as the weapon skins being for more than just the class it's with allows for more detailed customization for the Dark Angel zealots out there. The bundled Cosmetic pack for the Dark Angles successor chapters is also good, providing a large amount of cool symbols and patterns for designations, as well as a large chunk of campaign badges, which brings value for people who might not be big Dark Angeles fans but want to farther customize there marine with a certain marker. Overall it's a pretty good deal for $10 USD, but the price point being that would lead you to believe that if they were separate, that they TOGETHER would be $10, but the Salamander Champion Skin is $7 USD and the Raven guard Cosmetic pack is $5, so is this pack discounted because of how they've been bundled it or is the Salamnder champ-skin overpriced? Besides that, this pack is a good value for what it offers, but because it's the only way to get one or the other, I could see why it would be harder for someone who didn't get it for free through the season pass to pay $10 to join the Dark Angeles fan club when they only want a hand-full of symbols or patterns.

TLDR: Overall very good pack, has great cosmetic potential for fans even if they're not big Raven Guard fans because of the large amount of universally applicable symbols and great quality armor pieces added. Consider buying

Very nice DLC. Not a big Raven Guard fan, but the pack offers a lot of good potential for cosmetic diversity, and not just for Raven Guard fans, but other chapters related and unrelated. The Corvus pattern helmet itch was scratched, saw that coming, and the numeral patterns for the knees that so many different chapters use makes this pack and easy grab if you just want to complete your already existing paint schemes for other chapters. Other reviews will point out that there is no Champion skin with this one, but that's because it's just the cosmetic pack and not the whole Chapter pack like the Dark Angeles one. The only complaint i have is minor, and that's just the lack of a chest paint pattern like how the Iron Ravens have on some of there miniature models, and I only say this because these smaller grade cosmetic packs should be an excuse to add as many patterns and symbols as possible while staying relevant to there overall theming. Now, if i didn't already get this for free with the edition of the game I have, I'd have bought it, so I'll recommend that if you're on the fence abt buying the pack, look at a video of what it contains and see if there is any symbols in it that you want/need for the paint scheme you're currently working on.

TLDR: The skin is great looking even if it's the sniper (for some reason), but is it worth it when other dlcs offer more cosmetic diversity for better value?

If you comb the reviews, it's mostly people saying "I play Heavy/Bulwark and this isn't a skin for either of them!", and imma agree with them. I don't know if they were going for a planet Nocturne dragon hunter kinda thing or if they were afraid to put the iconic lizard skin cape on another class due to class silhouettes or something, but the skin objectively looks good despite feeling out of place, so if you can ignore that it's an easy buy. The better question is why is it $7 when the stand alone Raven Guard cosmetic pack is $5 and the Dark Angeles combo pack of a champ skin and a cosmetic pack is $10? to me it seems like the least worth it if you're not already a Salamanders fan, and even then it seems divisive there too. I got this for free through the version of the game I bought, and I won't pretend like most people didn't either, but if you're planning on buying this as a stand-alone, wait and see if they come out with a Salamander Cosmetic Pack down the road first, bc that will deff be more worth it with all the different symbols and such those packs usually have.

this is the single handed most unpolished game I've payed for, i cannot believe that quality control couldn't stop this from reaching the door with the numerous problems and server issues I've encountered in my short time of playing it. For all the other people who pre-ordered this, i think they can also agree that very minimal improvements sense there "months old beta build" had been made, and most of those improvements are UI USABILITY, not quality of life, but essential things like gunner cameras now WORKING. Overall 10/10 PTFO every time ( unless it's a skyscraper, where in-case, be prepared to fall through the elevator and not be able to PTFO )

Rating: Buy And Complete

Personal score: 9/10, as close to a perfect score as it can reach. No real gripes, no real complaints. Loved the vague storytelling, the challenging bosses and puzzles, and the sense of fulfillment of it all when i completed my first playthrough.

Estimated Public rating: 6/10 - 10/10, A large problem I've some to read about is that some people do not enjoy the control scheme, have an issue with difficulty (whether it's game wide or area specific), or find a lack of replayability. With that in mind, a majority of people share my sympathy for the design of the world and it's music, the enjoyable gameplay, ect.

Pros:
- Non-linear story telling, reminiscent of Souls titles, that allow a sense of mystery and aw to form at the discovery of story pieces or questions/theories about the narrative

- Challenging, engaging, and rewarding combat. I personally never felt overwhelmed to a state to aggravation in any encounters, never felt like i was facing an impossible challenge during any boss fights (including the Final one), and never felt a sense of artificial difficulty/unfair odds in any of what are considered Challenge Rooms (TBF, they were hard, and i never beat one one without dying more than thrice).

- Intriguing world design, filled with colorful scenery, reasonably challenging dash puzzles, discretely hidden secrets (I.e hidden rooms, encounters, collectables, pathways, ect.) that made the world exploration aspect of the game a genuinely fun time, even the times i was missing (now blatant) secrets.

Cons:
- Replayability. Although it's something i personally don't agree with, replayability is something I've seen complained about, with the game only having three real modes of play (Easy, Normal, and Hard), a NewGame+-esque gamemode, and an alternate game mode that allows you to play a new character. Outside of playing the game completely more than once, there are arena modes (that eventually do have an end and a reward for the completion) and a Dash Chain minigame (with it's own rewards based on your score compared to it's reward tier criteria). I could see how some people could want more than playing the game differently or "harder", so i wanted to include this if repetition or difficulty adjustments weren't your thing

- The Fear of Having To Backtracking. And it's real. if you play this game without any sort of guide, or tips on how to discover and of the more hidden areas/collectables, you will Inevitably have to back track if you are either a completionist or have missed a item you did or did not know you needed/wanted. This was only a problem until i figured out how the game subtly ques you to find secret areas, whether It's visually or (rarely) otherwise (I.e, sound que, enemy placement, ect.). Once i had discovered the method or patterning they used to detail secret areas, i found the back tracking part of this game more relieving than frustrating, but not entirely without It's deserved amount of frustration.

- Control Scheme's imperfections and Supremacy. Which one is better, controller or mouse and keyboard? a better answer than a definitive one is which set of minor flaws get under your skin the most. MaK is configurable and allows for more flexible movement, due to the direction of your dash being controlled by the direction you aim you mouse in, and does not have to pertain no the way you face, but can make fighting or even dashing feel awkward. Controller feels slightly more comfortable than the counter part, either with movement or combo input, but that's about where the non redundant pros end (I.e the ability to aim with the gun pointed before shooting. this doesn't really feel like a bonus, more of a way around the limitations of a controller. The MaK doesn't have this simply because you put you moue on or in front of what you want to shot, depending on if you need to lead the shot, so you are always aiming in a way). Either way, whichever one you choose shouldn't have the ability to ruin the game, but unfortunately it's a flaw many people haven't been able to get past or continue playing because of.

- "Too Hard" Syndrome. Simple, some people just think it's to hard. Don't think that personally, don't understand how it could lead to someone quitting playing, but if something like Normal difficulty is to hard, just play Easy until you are comfortable enough to play normal, or are satisfied with the game either way

Summary: this game is a subtle and silent masterpiece, with beautiful musical scoring, dynamic and unique explorable areas, and a fulfilling completion arc, that will either leave you satisfied or yearning for more. If you are even remotely Interested in this, it is a cheaper use of unwaisted hours than mos Triple-A
studios have produced in the last year. If you are unsure of how challenging it is, i employ you to watch as much gameplay as you'd like (if you hadn't found it through gameplay)
