Currently very limited in features. While the whole 3D voxel experience was a refresher, it just made me want me to start a new Rimworld save.

The backbone is there, it just needs some meat on it, is all. Thumbs up because I see this going somewhere and hope the updates roll out on a regular basis.

It's definitely fun sitting with your friends and having a go at finding the ghost that's trying to kill you.

It's got a very interesting concept that draws you in. The grand economical simulation based on supply/demand, along with the ability to engage in wars with thousands of citizens/soldiers total war-esque is cool indeed. It is a lovely mixture of Dwarf Fortress, Rimworld and the Total War series.

But, having said that, the UI is very tiring on the eye. I was only able to play for an hour before my eyes started hurting. The choice of text font is horrible, and the clunky interface doesn't help either. It's got the best gameplay features hidden behind a horrifyingly ugly user interface. I hope they make an effort in fixing this.

I'm going to go ahead and give it a thumbs up because I believe it's trying to do something that hasn't quite been done in the market before, and I hope to seeing it develop in the future.

This is a surprisingly well polished Early Access title.

The concept is a unique one, there isn't any other game out there quite like it. And that is what the community has been missing. Personally it reminds me of Life Is Feudal: MMO because it's easy to get outnumbered and eaten like a sheep that's wandered too far off the herd. Combat wise it is very similar (but way smoother) to Mount & Blade. From what I've read these guys were modders for Warband, and that makes sense.

Surviving the wasteland is difficult. You need protection. You need to team up and you need to be part of a bigger group. It's unforgiving, but that's where this game shines. Recovering after a battle is hard work when you're a team of two.

Overall this is a very fun game and I look forward to seeing it evolve.

Better with friends, the UI can be clunky at times but overall it's a pleasant experience.

What an incredible gem this is.

I found Warsim: The Realm of Aslona while browsing my discovery queue, and boy am I glad to have stumbled upon it. I'm having more fun playing this than I do with AAA+ games. It has the story, replayability and the complexity of Dwarf Fortress while having a very simplistic interface.

Easily the best indie game of the year. Do not hesitate to buy, worth every penny. This is a perfect example of how love and dedication can create a wonderful product. I wish the developer best of luck and hope to see more updates and new features!

You have to be an extraterrestrial gaming God to have any sort of success in this game, it's ridiculous. Oh and also a ton of luck as the game is filled with RNG. It doesn't care if you've lost 90 percent of your party, it'll still throw at you countless and overpowered monsters like Alps just so you could rage behind your monitor screen and smash your forehead against the keyboard. I bet the developers were having a laugh when they created this game. It is ridiculously hard, even on beginner difficulty. Do not even think about starting an Ironman playthrough, because the only way to beat this game is to savescum the ♥♥♥♥ out of it unless you want to lose 20hrs of progress and start all over again. Do not get me wrong, I love a challenge and losing is part of the fun but this is just absurdly tough. Make sure to go online and find a good map seed because again, RNG plays a major factor in your success. You have to find a good balance of towns with certain resources so you could trade and not spend the whole game barely feeding and paying your party. Is it fun? Yes, but it becomes more of a chore after the first half a dozen tries.

You cannot interact with passing caravans or parties in the open world like you could with Mount & Blade, for example. They're just there decoratively, serve no purpose whatsoever. If an enemy party is chasing you, in this case a monster group, they will completely ignore other human parties even if they pass right by them, this greatly breaks the immersion and feels like you're not a part of the world.

If you somehow manage to survive early/mid game and get metal armour, funnily enough the game gets incredibly easy, you begin to win every battle with no scratch until you get a really ♥♥♥♥♥♥ RNG roll and your whole party is obliterated. This could be fixed by the community through mods, but guess what, there is no workshop support, I do not know if this is on the agenda but it could solve balance and increase replayability through various mods.

In short, there's a whole lot of balancing to do and gameplay mechanics to be added if, in my eye, Battle Brothers is to be a top-notch Turn-based Strategy RPG. For now, I cannot recommend it.

Are there more additions compared to last year? Yes. Were they necessary? Eh, well... I don't know.

The UI is eye tiring, the new training schedule has been a complete mystery to me after 10hrs of playing. The calendar looks very clunky.
There are bugs, it's like cancer, 40% of buyers will have some sort of gamebreaking bug. Good luck on getting an answer on SI forums. You could always wait for them to patch it up.

P.S Not worth the current price, 25% sale would be ideal.

-- UPDATED REVIEW --
2nd December 2018

FM 2019 has managed to earn my approval, after 100 hours of playtime. At first the training sessions did not make sense, but as time moved on I realised its great benefits to my squad, allowing me more control over how my youngsters develop.

The dev team seems like they fixed the crashes with the small patches, good work.

P.S Currently got promoted to Premier Division with Leeds United. What about you?

I've been playing since late 2015. It's one of those games that allows you to create your own story, and oh boy does it do it well.

Your tale is going to be filled with misery, sorrow, and acceptance. If you're lucky, it'll be a heroic victory, but don't get used to anyone, for the Rim Gods have no mercy.

Most fun I've had playing online in a while. Needs more players for hectic 20 player races! Buy it.
