Cookie Clicker is a classic incremental game that is often pointed to when people ponder what kickstarted the genre's popularity it now has.

My experience with the game is a somewhat mixed one, however.
Cookie Clicker's early game can be a bit slow before you reach the game's prestige layer, but it offers you a good amount of achievements and features that will progressively unlock throughout. Some patience will be rewarded, but the waiting should still be quite manageable.
The midgame is where things get a little crazy, with prestige mechanics coming into play and allowing you to go through content much much faster. You'll be showered with achievements as your production rises at such speeds that you'll wonder whether you'll slow down at all.
As you make your way to the lategame, however, you'll quickly find that Cookie Clicker does indeed have a point where it slows you down, and it will do so quite drastically, turning a flood of content into a drizzle, at which point the game will still have some achievements and upgrades left for you to acquire, but you'll notice you already have a good chunk of them.

I feel like the earlier parts of Cookie Clicker are really the most entertaining for a player. Trying to go for completion is something that appears quite possible for now, yet it turns into a very slow experience that is supposed to take more than a year, most of which will be spent managing a digital garden and waiting for the right RNG to get a combo of multipliers going.

If you're thinking of getting Cookie Clicker for yourself, I'd say it's worth it for most of the content the game has to offer, but the endgame is something I would recommend staying away from unless you're absolutely determined to reach the 100% mark.

If you can get into the lategame, Path of Exile presents numerous layers of content for you to play through. Gameplay feels solid, available skills are varied with multiple playstyles available...
... but only the good playstyles get to the lategame.

Path of Exile's appeal to its veterans lies in its complexity, but its design aims to help newcomers as little as possible in understanding the intricacies of vital systems at play while its core mechanics aim to overwhelm as quickly as possible.

Most games welcome new players with open arms, but Path of Exile instead opts for an annoyed sigh and a powerful door slam. If you're willing to risk your foot to stop the entrance from closing, you might just find something remarkable, but you'll have to fight tooth and nail to get there.

The numbers do indeed go up. This pleases me and makes me want to make the numbers keep going up.

On a more serious note, the game does a good job of controlling its pacing, keeping it very entertaining as you play through it!

Early Access Review
Clicker Heroes 2 is an interesting combination of idle and RPG mechanics that ultimately turns into a satisfying blend of the former genre's automation, with the entertaining combat from the latter.

There are two heroes to choose from at the time of this review, with a third one being planned, and each one presents their own general approach to combat for the player to get used to, with different skills and attributes as well unique upgrades that allow you to customize your hero into something more suitable to your tastes.

One of my favorite aspects about the heroes is the automation process. Since playing the game 24/7 would be too much, you can have the game play itself, but automation presents a puzzle that is unique for both heroes in Clicker Heroes 2, as both heroes have completely different automation tools at their disposal. It's a good brain-teaser to properly automate your hero.

I've had this game since its initial availability to the public on July 16th, 2018. Back then it was more of a prototype than a game, but slowly the prototype grew into something a lot more promising than when it was first released. With nearly 2 years of having the game, it has become one of my favorites very quickly.
