While this isnt the AAA Pro Gear experience I expected, this was still a pretty fun game. It's a tad easy, too, as I only died once and that was at the final boss. If shooters are your thing and you need a good arcade fix, this can scratch that itch.

While simple in its design and core game play, Aggelos was actually very well-made. The graphics are bright, colorful, and cute; the music is good, albeit a bit repetitive; and the difficulty ramps well throughout. Being rewarded adequately for finding hidden power ups was nice and didnt feel like unnecessary busy work.

While certainly not the most sophisticated of games, either in presentation or game play, its still worth a buy if you like classic action RPGs.

This was fun. It reminded me of a mix between Mega Man and Contra except much less difficult than either of those games. It was bright, colorful, the music wasnt bad, and the challenge ramped well throughout. Definitely worth a buy if you like retro style action platformers.

Have you ever played Contra and thought, "Man, I wish Contra was way harder!"? Well, if so, then this is for you. This game does not hold back. But I toughed it out and beat it. Definitely worth a buy, but this is not for the faint of heart.

I recommend this on one big condition: if you've ever wanted to learn how to play Backgammon and need an easy experience doing so then this is worth a few bucks. If you're looking for a fair game play experience, look elsewhere. Within my first two games I frowned as the AI rolled quadruple values over and over and over. Ah well. It is what it is. The game has a nice interface, passable music, and various game modes. And again, it taught me how to play. That's important. This might not be worth for diehard players though.

You know what's not scary? Issues with mental health. Depression, suicidal tendencies, self harm; none of these things are "scary." So playing a game where the horror elements are derived from watching girls hurt themselves is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ stupid. "Oh, the girl cuts herself! The other girl committed suicide by hanging!" Wow. Yeah. REAL scary. The juxtaposition of cute anime girls with gruesome self harm due to mental illness is stupid. It's stupid and in very poor taste. Maybe if I was 14 or if I had never actually been in a relationship with a living, breathing person before I might find this game engaging. But I'm not and I have so I have no respect for this.

I read all of the reviews for this before I bought it. I should have listened, but my love for this series - and my excitement at seeing a new entry in it - clouded my judgement. If you're a fan of the first two Fear Effects on PS1 do yourself a favor and replay them.

FE Sedna is an isometric stealth shooter. I would elaborate further, but the core game play mechanics don't work very well. Stealth? Nope. Tactics? Nope. An engaging story to even the experience out? Nope. Enemy AI just rushes towards you, your companions do nothing remotely strategic (even when given orders), game play boils down to holding shoot on enemies until they fall down, and the story is a mess. Look, I'm pretty forgiving when it comes to voice acting and hammy plot. But come on. The FE series was always great at presenting decent production values in those regards. Sedna does not. I sat through the cutscenes and dialogue, sighing, trying to find something redeeming about it all. I couldn't. It's just not fun. The "puzzles" suck, the game play is lame, and the voice acting sounds like a Theater 101 class. It's not good.

You'll play far worse, sure, but if you're a fan of FE and you're hoping for a revitalization of the series with this, the disappointment will sting all the worse. Save your money and watch a video of it.

So I feel the best way to review Sacred is to write a collection of my thoughts at various hour marks. Here we go:

Hours 1-2: Hey! This is pretty good! I like the unique characters to choose from and the classic fantasy setting is fun. A Diablo clone through and through, but not bad.

Hours 3-4: Hey. This...is getting kinda samey. These quests are paper thin and have no real importance at all. Enemies spawn like bunnies all over the field and is actually beginning to become annoying. This is also very, very easy.

Hours 5-6: I've given up with the story. Something, something, necromancer and a demon, something, something Prince Valor needs me. I don't care. This is disjointed. All I'm doing is walking from A to B. The animation to pick up items is getting on my nerves and is slowing the gameplay down.

Hours 7-8: I've given up on the side quests. Do I want to find some lady's dad who got lost in the woods? No. Will I? No. Do I care that Farmer Buttnut's cows are grazing fifteen feet to the left of his house? No.

Hours 9-10: I've learned that my demon can fly over all terrain. Mountains, rivers, pits: it don't matter. I'm flappin' over it. Except that if my flying wears off while Im over something I can't walk on it crashes my game. Smooth.

Hour 11: So I'm pretty sure my game bugged out and won't let me enter a cave. I'm out.

If you REALLY need a Diablo clone to scratch that itch, this isn't the worst game you can play. It's also not the best. It's way too easy, way too repetitive, and the lack of any compelling story made me lose interest. Ah well.

This is exactly what I thought it was going to be.

I was not disappointed.

This taught me how to play Minesweeper. I'm dead serious. Through trial and error, and through the determination to see anime bubbies, I taught myself the ins and outs of Minesweeper. For fans of Minesweeper and anime bubbies.

Mission Accomplished.
