Overall I am happy with Skyforce Anniversary. The visuals are pretty striking for a scrolling shooter, and the gameplay is solid enough to feel rewarding. It lacks a certain element of speed and excitement when compared to the best int he genre. Movement is fluid but not as sharp or tight as I'd like perhaps. Not sure if that makes sense, but their are just moments when I will get hit, and I know I'd have gotten away from damage. Regardless of that weird ramble, I think the overalle experience is positive. I've not beaten the levels all the way through as I can't help doing the challenges at least through hard once they are unlocked.

The challenges are part of each level and seem to always base around clearing w/ no damage, saving marooned civilians by hovering overhead for a short bit. The other two consist of destroying 70% and 100% of enemies respectively. While not cake walk, not as daunting as it sounds. My only annoyance is that I know see the bundle is available with reloaded for less than either game. It would be great if they couold at least offer if for a slightly reduced price for owners of anniversary,

Ah, I nearly forgot the point of all that is largely to gain stars and points to buy upgrades for your ship, They are pretty standard, main gun, add side gunds, missle etc. Its kind of neat to buy them, but those are pretty much standard fare in any ship shooter. Vertical or Horizontal. I may sound critical but I am just being picky as I do like the game and definitely recommend it. The graphics are detailed, vibrant, and high resolution. The RPG elements and multiple difficulty levels including the challenges also really help add a good bit of replay value. Plus there is coop which is never a bad thing.

7.8/10

As a long time fan of the series. I am very happy with Tekken 7 overall. I like the direction the gameplay evolution is heading in contrast to Tekken Tag Tournament two. While throw breaks are made easier (something the competetive player side of me wants to dislike but I have definitely benefited from it.). In addition to that the game looks great, and online is solid overall.

9/10.

Very fun and faithful rendition of the Mega Man X brand of gameplay. I recently got it for a friend and the coop is a blast I much say. With three characters now available it adds even more variety to the affair. I like the various power ups available for each character in general. Some are awesome, others a tad underwhelming.

Overall I think this a very well made, and fun game. If I had to give a criticism it would be on the online games handling of soul chips (the primary currency for purchasing powerups) seem to go to the host more. I often ends up with 7-8 which generally does not amount to a purchase as the non-host seems unable to collect tokens, or purchase temporary powerups for the next map. Aside from that I love the coop and think it is excellently done along with the game itself.

Very cool game. Even only having played the two characters their seems to be a good amount of variety between gameplay styles for the characters and ships. Initially the graze mechanic can almost seem too forgiving, but you will definitely need it as things ramp up in arcade difficulty or higher. I've not tried the easy difficulty. Recommend for sure. The dialogue is simple and is pretty much just pre boss fight lines, but its nice to see some little element of a "story" thrown in there without it being a drag, or distraction. Looking forward to unlocking more ships.

Update: Several months back I decided to go back to this game and I eventually managed to score a 1cc using one of the stronger unlockable ships. Several different ships that all play a bit differently (one has bits, one has a sword which is the most dramatic departure) make the game that much better. Overlooked doujin shmup with fun gameplay and a balanced difficulty curve.

Excellent arcade shooter. Graze system is well implemented and adds an exciting risk reward element to the game. T0he minor but impactful experience based customization options are satisfying to utilize, and also impact gameplay and help keep things fresh with variations on your weaponry and such.

8.5/10
Great game!

I've enjoyed this game quite a bit in the few hours I've played. My only disappointment (which is not even totally fair) Is that my excessive exploration and curiousity already prompted the "UCEY" name change. I felt like I was just getting into the base plot (well it is hard to tell if the direction is going to advance more on villian or your bizarre but awesome relationship with the narrarator). I think the visuals are fantastic, and the combat had depth and fluidity while staying fairly open and free form. It reminds me of Nier: Automata in regards tot he combat (executions, lighting fast dashes and dodges while slaying mechanical enemies). I'm sure ICEY(or UCEY) :( 's slightly similar aesthetic helps add to that factor. she even has a small pod looking creature/device hovering in the same place. I am not certain as to its function, but for all I know it may be helping me perform some of her moves or manouvres.

All in all I like this game a good bit. I am always a fan of well made 2d action/rpg/metroidvania types, and this succeeds well in those regards thus far. Outside of the available upgrade list being all there is (unless they gaine new properties or abilities at higher level which I'd be just as satisfied with) or the game ending abrubptly, I can't imagine being disappointed. There is some genuinely smar, and creative stuff in the game. Breaking the 4th wall on the regular, but in a very enjoyable and nautral way, Not hokey or jarring. Quite humorous at times as well,

Glad I stumbled on this, and I did not purchase with the steam link, I just dug the look for the game and the price was right.
