No, this is pure ass. Don't buy it

The gameplay is honestly pretty fun for a hack n' slash even though it's unlike any other Devil May Cry. The story is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ I ain't gonna lie. It's clear Ninja theory went with more of a western take on the whole demon infested world idea but the characters are just pure ass. Let's be real, not many of us play these games for the story so you can overlook that part. Lack of lock-on can be really annoying sometimes but the gameplay is mostly fluid except a few inputs, which I just recommend you avoid. One more thing to get used to is that the dodge has it's own seperate button now. If you've played Bayonetta before or something alike you'll quickly adjust. Color-coded enemies ( especially the angelic ones ) suck. The platforming is fine nothing special, my only really complaint here is that there is a lot of it and it generally slows down the pace a little too much for me. Side note: if you happen to like the game and want more of it I strongly advise against buying the Vergil's downfall dlc. This is by far the worst thing I've ever had a chance to experience in this genre. The character's moves are slugish and poorly designed. This is not Vergil. This is not fun. For your own sake stay away from that DLC.

Great story, side quests are decent, AI is OK but nothing more than that, endings are different and really cool. Guns feel nice and melee isn't completely useless as it is probably the best and easiest way to play the game. But if you're not a fan of action you can always play passively as NETrunner ( hacker ).
The game is worth getting on sale but I'd not recommend it for it's full price.

cool and funny game. I wish there will be left 4 dead 3 but everyone knows that valve only can count to 2.. anyways i think you should buy this game and play it with your friends ^^
Update: B4B sucks so if you want a zombie co-op shooter just get this instead as it has full mod support and much better characters/theme.
