Ignore the IGN review - Great Game if you enjoyed the original. Amazing performance as well considering the grand scale that you can achieve. Give it a chance and you will love RTS in space.

Honestly an Amazing Game and is has completely satisfied the long wait for the game. I was a considerable fan for Age of Empires III (hot take I know) and had hundreds (if not thousands) of hours in that playing while growing up.
Yeah they still have the unit count of 200 but that is more a factor that adds a level of competitiveness to it (you must find the best way to manage the 200 population cap). And who knows they may get rid of that in the future.
As an Age of Empires 3 player, i was able to pick up the game and was able to pick up the differences easily. While I don't have enough hours to be expert at the game to know all the unique tactics and strategy - i am looking forward to playing many hours in the future

Amazing Game just like you remember - runs smooth and looks great! It is the same basic game with no added features but well worth the money

Amazingly fun game - works pretty well on newer macbooks as well

Great game for total war - its a little complicated but the romance addition is awesome for the campaign and once you figure it out it just gets better and more complex
