Came back to camp from a looting excursion, big fat orange naked guy appears a little way down the beach and looks menacing, so I hold up the head of some other guy i'd decapitated as a warning to back off, he shrugs his shoulders as if to say "and?" and comes at me.

10/10 would throw a spear through his face again

A truly enjoyable (albeit brutal, and with a steep learning curve) FPS / military strategy game. It's not perfect, and you will die a lot, but the epic battle moments and the mostly fantastic and helpful community / squad system make this a refreshing and addictive experience for anyone wanting a bit more than the twitchy/arcadey format which the major shooters (COD, BF) seem to favour these days.

Well, it's still got some issues, but it's encouraging to see that Big Ant are patching this as regularly as they are. It's taken a couple of weeks to get rid of some of the more game-breaking bugs, and there is still a way to go before some of the less critical things (but still important) things are fixed or working properly, but the game is now enjoyable for the most part, and I feel able to recommend it now.

Hopefully the patches keep coming and some of the things that still don't work properly are fixed soon (like fielding on the boundaries, like the direct hit throw mechanic, and quite a few things in career mode like stats development etc).

Fair play to Big Ant for putting such an effort into apologising for the bad launch and patching the game, they've been very responsive and clearly are trying their best to rectify things.
