A fun, free way to spend an hour or two.

My only complaints are I wish there was a little more to the ending (You beat the final boss and that's it, you're told to finish any other quests but otherwise there's no fanfare) and I wish you could view boss animations, like a second gallery that unlocks after you beat each boss/the final boss. Otherwise it's great, come for the metroidvania and then come for the porn. Special shoutout to the music, every track was a fun listen.

There's better fap material out there.

Just finished unlocking everything, felt like I should leave a review. Learned about this game through Vinny Vinesauce, and I'm glad I picked it up myself.

Despite what I shout while playing, I do like playing ftl, it's a good game.

The prison area is the definition of artificial difficulty. Traps and spikes everywhere, forcing you to either take damage or be a god.

It's a 2D Platformer Darksouls. And yes, it is like Darksouls, this isn't just me saying it's difficult. Limited healing items, a nice combat system, large bosses, salt (souls) that you loose upon death and need to reclaim, a story that's only partly told, the whole nine yards. And it was made by a competent development team that knew the difference between "lets add a lot of enemies and traps" and "lets add just one hard enemy and barely any traps so you never seem them coming." Except the Tree of Men. That boss can break it's legs and have to drag itself to help only to die on the way to the hospital.

Normally when I'm reviewing a bait-and-switch game like this, I go along with the joke. I make a comment making it seem like the game is exactly what it pretends to be in the hope of tricking someone into downloading it and being truly surprised. However, with how this game exploded after release, you no doubt already know the twist without even looking at this store page. On the impossibly small chance you do not know the twist, and that this is the first review you're reading, I implore you to stop now. Download the game, turn off your internet to prevent any spoilers, and play it.

I hate the horror genre. They even say in the game my same reasons: it relies on cheap jumpscares and keeping the monster hidden. I don't want something to jump in front of the camera while a loud sound plays, I want to see the monster, to know it's slowly walking towards me, to give me plenty of time to know exactly what is going to happen when it gets here. This game does that. There were plenty of times playing it when I knew something was about to happen, I knew I could just turn the game off and do something else, but I didn't, and that's the true horror. Everything scary about this game, all the anxiety you might feel playing it, even any triggers you experience seeing the character's problems, it's all in your control. You are choosing to torture yourself, and there's no better fear than knowing that.

Short, simple, and free. There's no reason why you haven't played this yet. It's got 3 endings (all of which are easy enough to access and don't require an entire replay-through), a story that makes sense, and not terrible engrish.

Great stealth mechanic, good graphics, and a ton of ways to do the missions. Just one little problem I had, when I was in the elevator I swore I heard people talking, but my thermal scans showed no one was around. And the elevator took a little while to start, but other than that it's a great game.
