GTAO was golden in it's first 3 years. Fair, fun, and reasonable. But these last 2 years, the developers got greedy, and ruined the entire premise of this game. What used to be a game where there was only a slight work ethic needed to stay relevant in the game has turned into a hectic ♥♥♥♥-storm for new players, or people who can't afford to throw their wallets at micro-transactions.
Buying this game new at it's current state for online is a horrible idea, unless you are going to use cheats to get money, which is the only way to stay relevant and alive.
You get thrown in at level one with a pistol and a small amount of cash to barely keep you going. While you aren't even a high enough level to own an explosive, someone is roaming around in a car that shoots rockets, and takes 15+ to even compete against.
Do not buy this game unless you have a high level friend to keep you company, if you manage to get mentored by a friend who can maintain himself in an online lobby you can still enjoy yourself.

everybody in this game is pure garbage. there are level 80's that play characters that one shot people by looking at them and i manage to frag higher by playing as some black doctor that runs fast.

This game is an emotional rollercoaster.
Either you have extreme ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ fun when you die and start laughing horrendously
Or you throw your mouse at your ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ wall and push your pregnant wife down the stairs.
Either you get really excited in the top ten
Or you start clenching your ass tighter than a 4 year old's ♥♥♥♥♥ as you prone in the corn field.

Either way this game is definitely something I'd reccomend.

This game will take your life away. After playing this game once, You will get addicted and never STOP! PLEASE! SAVE YOURSELF!
