I wrote a negative review for this game a long time ago, because the game was full of problems, but after coming back about a week ago, I had to change my opinion. There was a host of quality of life changes, as well as the whole 'prestige' system, and more. Without further ado, the review.

I STILL LOVE the art. I like the way everything is animated, from the gestures to the craziest moves. Almost feels like anime.(dont tell anyone that though) I could spend all day looking at the game and not regret a second.

The music and sounds are on-point. The sounds of fists slapping flesh is solid, and the music has a very nice feel to it. Peaceful areas are calm, and while fighting bosses, it amps it up. I still get chills fighting Risryn due to the music.

The endless possibilties for fashion are mind boggling, and I still have no idea if its better to stay fast or just look good and have normal speed.(please send help) With several updates, many more pieces of armor and masks have popped up allowing the verteren players to show off a bit with the combat trials rewards and items. Also the addition of intros to add some personality and flavor to each combatant is very nice. There are some insanely high requirements for many of the best looking pieces however, but at least its not RNG based, and you know what you need to do to get them. It's just going to take you forever to get them.

And the combat...where to start. It's INCREDIBLE. The level of depth here is unparalleled by any fighting game out there. You get to choose every move you make, to fit your playstyle. When you choose windfall, forsaken, or kahlt, you dont have to stick you the moves given to you. You will come across countless foes with new moves to learn and add to your deck. Schools are also a great way to get more moves and styles instantly. You WILL get lost in this system whether you like it or not. If you're like me, and you enjoy that level of creativity, go ham.
(in my previous review, there were nigh unending network and server issues, but those are all gone, yay!)

With all that said, this game is not without flaw. You will come across people you have been playing since launch, and they will make you feel like a toddler in those 1v1 matches, dancing around you and your deck, that you were so proud of 2 minutes ago. This is mostly due to the fact that THERE IS NO MATCHMAKING SYSTEM. There are simply not enough players to have a regular system like that right now, which is a serious downside. I have to say, when I started a new character to test out the forsaken style(my main was windfall), and I was about lvl 40ish, and just starting combat trails, I was put up against a combat trails level 1000+ player, and I knew this because he had on the mask with that requirement. I wasn't even max level yet. He wiped the floor with me and taunted at me.(I dont even know) You will have to be able to put up with losing many many matches before getting better at PvP, but if you stick with it, it's lots of fun. This is a grindy game, and if you don't enjoy the grind, maybe it's not for you.

Also I still get lost on this map, and the map you see at alters and the bridge is just a slap in the face to anybody trying to get to a specific location. The feeling of 'getting lost in the scenery' gets real old, real quick. People ought to be able to fast travel to locations they already have unlocked. I'm sick of having to run all the way up and down the tower of Adal.

I think that just about covers it, TL;DR grindy deep fighter, you get lost all the time, and beat up, but at least you look edgy af(too bad nobody will ever notice you ;_;)
