I don't think I remember running an installer from desktop...but even then why are they labeled .dll? Isn't .dll associated with the OS?

Overall, those files are there because an installer was run from the "Desktop"
Files should be downloaded to other place (such as Downloads folder) and ran from there instead. Desktop is just not a good spot to download/run things from for installers.

I don't know whether to trust you or think your a troll trying to get me to delete important files to mess my computer up... But I really want to trust you..
