I will say, I enjoyed the game, the final boss is quite the difficulty spike, but if you understand the game mechanics enough its not that hard. For what seems like this devs one and only game, its not half bad, and for the price, it could be slightly longer. As it is about roughly an hour or so's time not including time to get all achievements and such. The game overall is very nice, if not quite dark at times, you'll understand why as you play.

Not only that, but while the game does have multiple endings, unless you know most of the tricks to doing as certain thing at a certain point in the game, it becomes more or less redundant or will feel pointless to keep playing that save once you know you've messed something up. The true ending is the least dark ending, which involves basically 3 achievements prior to it in succession, as well as makes the final boss EVEN harder than it would be otherwise.

All the difficulty problems aside (AND THOSE ANNOYING GHOSTS!). If you like a quick game that has a bit of an open ended story no matter how you finish it, and its on sale, I'd say at the very least give it a try.

It seemed like in the true ending the dev hinted at a sequal in the making, but considering this game was made back in 2015, I wouldn't really hold out any hope for it at this point. Chances are something happened to them or the project or something if this has been their only game since all the way back in 2015.

The game isn't bad by any means, however, I feel like the video's need to better show off how the combat and general scale of the game actually looks. For a time before trying the game I had thought the game was more or less like Stellaris, or something akin to Sins of a Solar Empire. But was rather disappointed by the general map size/scale. The game seems much smaller than I had anticipated. That's by no means a bad thing, but I will say I personally prefer a larger scale scenario.

Overall, I would highly recommend you try the game at least, and try the tutorial as it allows you to figure out the game slowly and at your own pace without risk of being curb stomped by an AI. But will say, you can probably explore everything the game currently has to offer within said tutorial. Which for me, took less than an hour. I could maybe see this game being fun in the future, and maybe a lot will change in time. But I can only recommend the game to those who prefer smaller scale space combat with a bit more of a unique 3d twist to it. If I had to compare it to anything, it'd be like Age of Empires mixed with some kind of space rts, but not as much of a grand rts as either could be considered. Its very much cinematically interesting, but not so much in the RTS aspect.

I recommend the game however regardless of my personal un-enjoyment of the game, because I can see the promise in it and that those who aren't quite to the grand scale of rts yet, can find some more comfort in something a bit more instantly action packed, if not slightly smaller scale than say something like Stellaris, Sins of a Solar Empire, or games of said scale. It's very much a cozy kind of game, but it simply isn't for me at this current moment.

Something I would enjoy more, is having the ability to build more than one building at a time, rather than queing up blueprints of where I want to build more. While also being allowed to que up buildings even if I don't have the resources. I also wish getting the experimental ships was more grand rather than them simply popping into existence once you purchase them via the resources. Also, having a total ship cap of only 40 seems rather small in the grand scheme of things. Not sure if that was only for the tutorial, but either way, not a entirely great experience having so few ships fighting. Will also say, the sun launcher is a bit... OP and I can see it being something a lot of people immediately rush towards in the game to immediately win. Its pretty expensive, but if you know how to manage resources for defense and expansion, there won't be much your enemy can do to stop you from just rushing towards that, surrounding it in defensive platforms and artillery, and hunkering down till you're ready to launch it at the enemies shipyard. Where you have to hope you upgraded it enough to tank the explosion and impact as well as the directional damage. Even if it fails at destroying the shipyard, it basically cripples you to death ensuring a easy cleanup.

Spongebob Blew up Mrs. Puff and the Crusty crab got nuked from orbit shortly after the chum bucket was renamed to the C#m bucket. Garry was also a absolute mongoloid with 1 human leg that turned into a crack dealer.

SCP's began springing up from the floor before children began screaming "RDM" pulling out their fist SWEPs and beating the MTF guards while the MTF kids begans screaming "NLR." And then the server owner shut it down after getting report spammed for 4 hours straight.
Absolutely amazing, oh, also, apparently a kid began screaming over mic as he was apparently being pegged... so that happened, was probably the funniest and stupidest time of my life on here.

I will say that I absolutely love this game to death, everything about it from the customization aspect to the combat, its both fast and easy to understand while still being fun.

Now, one thing I will note, that although I am recommending the game, it is purely for the single-player aspect as that is what I have the most experience and joy thus far in playing.

During the free weekend, my friend picked up the game so we could play together and experience the game together. But in doing so, we met a very glaring issue with the game overall. That is to say, multiplayer is otherwise completely unplayable, and is extremely unstable in ways I cannot even describe. The saves will constantly break, battles will often desync you all the time unless its apparently the host... but even then it just doesn't seem to work. As exiting a battle causes desyncs or crashes upon the other players game.

I should not need to exit the game and launch it again to host the game again to enjoy 5-10 turns with my friend only to then have it crash or break or saves to no longer work or even save at all. There needs to be some serious change in the multiplayer department before I would ever recommend the game to those who want to enjoy the game with friends. Its really sad that Paradox are continuously dropping the ball in this regard, but then making it fantastic to enjoy for single-player. A game with so much possibility with others, but foundationally is only seemingly meant for those who enjoy single-player.

The final say? I highly recommend it for single-player game play. But in its current and possibly foreseeable future, it is not actually multiplayer ready in even a bit of the word 'multiplayer'. As multiplayer is possibly the most unstable I have ever seen any other strategy game ever made.

A game that's survived through all the trials and tribulations, and even now holds up well today in every way.

A game that deserves praise even to this day as truly one of the best games of all time.... if only there weren't so many Chinese servers constantly spamming me, and instead ones I would actually want to join.

Bot spam, Bot Spam, Bot Spam. If I had to say one thing about TF2 today, its that its become a festering pit for cheaters and bots alike. Its a testament to what the gaming landscape has devolved into and just how little the companies on high chairs think of anything below them. From how they see us the players, as nothing but numbers, or how they see their own game as a done and dusted deal that got its money's worth long ago... While these bots and cheaters, technically work the Valve Marketing strategy for them, by flooding the market with worthless crap, thus essentially printing them money for those gullible enough to buy it.

Both the botters win, and Valve wins, thus they will likely never, ever fix the game because to them, these bots essentially are like a semi legal money printer. The only thing they have to sacrifice? A bit of their image, and the players that play the game, but still likely will buy stuff from bot hosting accounts. Just ignore the bots Doxxing people recently, ignore them promoting their own services, and filling servers to the point that no one can do anything to stop them, and they just kill the server.

This is equivalent to online gangs and mafia's, where you pay them to protect you and your servers from them themselves.

And so Sony has finally done it, and rewound the region lock after more than a year after helldivers release. And the whole controversy surrounding that entire decision. While some countries still suffer from it, the mass majority of every other country is now free to once again dive into hell as they were meant to be. And so, I will officially be changing my recommendation as was per yhe agreement the entire playerbase made should such ever happen.

Long Live Super Earth, Long Live Democracy. Welcome back to the from everyone... things have not been going well since your forced departure... outside the defence of Super Earth itself.

The game is a blast of all manner of nonsense, tomfoolery, and absolute chaos. Its extremely simple concept is extremely addicting, but also makes it so that no one run on any moon will ever be the same. I just wish there was a bit more of a secret objective to work towards that can be extremely hard considering you otherwise do just try to get scrap... which in itself is still fun to do with what you have to deal with, but does still needs more. Considering its current popularity though, and the amount of coverage its getting, there likely will be additional stuff whenever they release it. (probably in a while, but also because the secret shows that something might be possible in the future)

This game is good by yourself if you're looking for the horror experience. Can be just as good, if not slightly less stressful, and also slightly easier and far funnier with friends.

Edit: In short, Even better with the very quickly growing modding community. Also VERY VERY deserving of the "Better with friends" Gaming award from Steam. If it didn't win I would have been exceptionally surprised. I cannot recommend this game enough, really. (Even if you don't have friends, you're bound to make at least some playing on public lobbies that aren't try hards trying to beat the world record)

I am the Mechanicus, and I make everyone suffer pain with range. The Toasters will make everyone rue the day of national toast day where they used us all to make their toast, and even make a whole Hive City for them simply to make freaking toast... Now all they will get is burnt toast thrown at the speed of sound across a field. Using our Omni-Spectrum goggles to make sure you cannot hide from this kind of toast.

Our Toast is the Toast of the Omnissiah that shall smite our enemies and allies alike!
