(Review of an older player who re-downloaded this on Steam)

Very generous, beautiful and comfortable gacha game.

First of all, it's a "gacha game", so rather than "I will play this for 100 hours straight", it's a slow burn where you clock in a bit every now and then. Unless you play the roguelike modes, that is.

The art, music and voices are amazing. The game is fully voiced in english, so that's pretty cool. As for generosity - You can without much hassle get all the characters you want, and the team size is 4 characters, so you do not need an army to actually have a viable team. If anything, you will find yourself not being able to play all oyour waifus at the same time.

the only bummer is that the cosmetic skins cost money so you cannot farm them for free.

I've said in the past, that this game can either take a route of "nerfing the game until its unfun", or, well, make it fun.
They made it fun.

Best Borderlands game for two reasons

1) Only Borderlands with actually viable melee character that feels fun to play. <3 Athena <3.
2) Low gravity jumps are so great it will make you realize how boring games without it are.

Very nice visual novel.

The art is gorgeous. I will admit, I love SWAV's art, and this story is packed with it to the brim.
Story is neat. Ive shed like two or three tears. It also doesnt overstay its welcome or go over inane nonsense.

Its just overall a nice package. Anyway i gotta listen to the OST again brb

I will shill this game because of the story, visuals and music. Its packed with cool mechanics to the boot.
And regarding combat - its both quality *and* quantity. Every new combat is new enemies, not recycled filler or recoloured bandits of higher level. Theres always something exciting to look forward to.

*finger snap*

Also, difficult as heck.

At some point, just get Cheaters Toolkit mod if it gets too difficult. You *will* suddenly hit enemies twice as strong as whatever came before. You *will* have to adjust your deck because it gets obsolete every 5 combats. You *will* spend an hour adjusting deck for extremely specific bossfight. And every combat *will* involve like 15 turns, and each turn is made of 10 clashes which have 3 attacks each, and you have to counter every single one with higher number - thats like 15x10x3 = 450 numbers to crack per combat encounter.

Or in other terms, if normal roguelike game is a single equation, Library of Ruina is like solving mathematical matrix.

This is just someone making up language and building a game around it.
In other words, awesome.
You get actual choices about what to do - i managed to complete the game (gameplay, not lore spoiler ahead) without really talking to people and just by exploring. . And the fact that there is still lot i have missed amazes me.

PS: Time has passed and things changed so i adjusted my steam review - original review is below.

New review:

Still not a good game.

Limbus tells the player that its a very complex game with hard learning curve. And yet, i have defeated dozen of daily Mirror Dungeons ("short" roguelike mode) without reading any of my abilities, only using auto-battle, and never once using EGO skills.

So why do i have to spend half an hour every day in order to get daily reward, if i play the game on autopilot? Same for daily bosses, they are not difficult - you just have to alt-tab to click "auto fight" every turn for a while.

Or you can click "skip battle" and get 50% of the reward instead.

(Previously, special events were even more grindy (view old review). I have not played this game for a while and do not know if this changed or not.)

Other Project Moon games were experimental and doing things noone else dared. Limbus is wasting players time like a grindy MMO from early 2000s.

The art is great. Music slaps. The story is amazing, and the characters are neat.
Unfortunately, i cannot bear to actually play this game.

For what its worth, this could be easily fixed - Let us skip the daily grind. Dont make us do Mirror Dungeon every day to get the real in-game currency. Let us play this gamemode when we feel like it, instead of giving us FOMO for missing daily rewards. Make events that are fun to play, not nightmare to grind.

Put the difficulty where it matters.

Original review:

Im a casual, so my team consists of nice characters, not minmaxed spreadsheet.
It takes me on average 19 minutes to clear Dungeon of new event.
I am casual and cannot beat the hardest, most efficient difficulty of Dungeon.
I have to beat the suboptimal Dungeon 240x in order to get all the event rewards.
That is 76 hours. For two week event. With me staring at screen, not alt tabbing every 3 minutes.

Other gacha games are noob friendly, you get the rewards by having fun, and you can choose to challenge yourself.
This game expects you to become pro even if you just want to have fun.

Even the generosity of devs is not worth me clocking more hours in this game than in my actual job.

Most likely the most subversive and mind-ducky story that i had the chance to experience.
Gorgeous art, nice story flow, rad soundtrack and ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ good tier mysterious plot that somehow can always get one more level of subversion.
