I had a really wonderful time with this game. Although its price tag might seem a bit steep for the playtime you get out of it, I felt that it was exceptionally polished in both its presentation and variety.

I feel I must give two warnings about it, however. The first is that I believe that you need to be curious to learn more about the Popgoes universe than what is currently known about POPGOES Evergreen and what is shown in POPGOES Arcade. Most of the rewards in this game contribute greatly to the worldbuilding of this new story, so if you're nit interested in that, I recommend you turn away.

Second is the difficulty. The game is fairly difficult at the time of my writing, but steps are being taken to address them including a full reprogramming of the game that will tighten up resource management and replace two notably frustrating bonus modes. If you're okay with a little frustration, I say go on ahead and enjoy yourself. If not, wishlist it for now and keep a close eye on the patch notes.

All in all though, this game is a nice little treat for Popgoes dorks like me, so whether you're a seasoned veteran of the series or are looking to brush up on your lore leading up to Popgoes Evergreen, I think you'll have a wonderful time with myPOPGOES.

Early Access Review
First, I must add that I have been anticipating this game for as long as I have known about it. With that said, I can safely say that I’m a fan of direction this game is taking. As for review points, I’ll do it by chapter.

Hometown:
-Seems unchanged from the demo, but I likely didn’t see it all. Plus, things are changing all the time right now so this will be probably be fixed.
-I feel that Hometown offers a good introduction into the world of Heartbound with it’s unique combat and little secrets and dialogue that you need to look for.
-The ending to this chapter is really well done with the battle’s finale being cleverly disguised as an important choice.

Tower Corp.
- Conveys the theme of restriction real well.
- The large amount of dialogue within the chapter never fails to be hilarious if you just want to look around the office.
- The final boss of this chapter reveals the developer’s attention to detail while also providing a nice ending for the family portion of Heartbound.

Overall, I’m very pleased with Heartbound right now. However, the knowledge that extra content is being added to the Tower soon and the fact that Animus is only a couple months out makes me super excited to see how this all turns out.
