I'm a ~2200 hour veteran of HOI4, and a casual Stellaris enthusiast. It took a long time to understand the controls of Victoria 3. I feel competent and comfortable after 33 hours, which is not something I could say for HOI4 <3. I never played Victoria 2 so everything was dramatically different than the other Paradox games I had experience with.
I gave up after a few hours and left it for a few months. After coming back and giving it the Ol' "Rambler try", I find it is honestly the best introduction for those new to PDX games.

Thank you Bokoen1, Isorrowproductions, Laith, Ludi Et Historia, and obviously Kilian Experience. You taught me how to play.

Early Access Review
Boy, oh man, oh boy, was I cussed at this masterpiece.

It all started when I immediately bought it! Naively, I was hoping a retextured M&B-WB. (That's right. I would spend $50 on a retexture!)
When my character entered the world, I skipped that cussed tutorial! I'm a seasoned sausage who knows the tasty ways! Much to my dismay, the chefs have absolutely delivered the dish I asked for but with MORE SPICES!
My seasoning was rendered utterly useless. Sure, the looters were no match for my slow trotting horse and arrow technique, but those Cussed Bandits of the Foresty Mountains. It was like Legolas had 8 identical twins who all decided to try cocaine.
I didn't play for a whole day. The dish was stale. Until I played the next day! It wasn't stale, it was a freshly baked Cheesecake! I made it past the caramelized crust and in the sweet sweet world of Calradia.
I finished the first quest, BAM! More unit slots. I reached clan lvl 2, BAM! more unit slots! It was more than I could ever dream of!
M&B had changed for the better! Money came in at a resonable rate. Quests became fun to do and easy to find. Battles are sometimes cancer but still somehow better.

In fact, I enjoy the taste of this new dish far better than the cuss I had asked for!

10/10 Best Game from my childhood! The bad characteristics and exploits make this game all the better! I am a seasoned Total war player. I love them all, but Medieval 2 is undoubtedly my favorite Totalwar!
Just when I think i'm done I keep coming back for more.

It simply does EVERYTHING better than its successors.
*Tabletop movement is easy to grasp
*NO TECH TREE!
*(all around, there's no senseless overload nor tedious repeating functions)
*More focus on Conquering
*Non OP Spearmen or Phalanx
*Unit prices + Upkeep
* +++GRAPHICS+++ *
^I'm being serious. Why does Medieval 2 give me a greater sense of immersion and realism than any other Totalwar??? I need an answer because I would absolutely love to see it again.

10/10 Would leave the Pope and 2000 Swiss stranded in the Tyrrhenian Sea, Again!

I thought the Europe at War mod was the absolute BEST mod available for CoH. I was wrong. The BK mod is essentially the same, but it offers something better in every regard. When you Zoom-out, you generally see all your units, which EaW was terrible at. No BS from armored rushes, they give every faction light AT guns from HQ (I wish they would work). Realistic sound quality, I had to change my pants, twice, after hearing the Mg42 and .50cal
