This game is great.

Whether it is online multiplayer, singleplayer campaigns or random map, or making and playing scenarios with friends - there is always something else that you can do.

I spend plenty of my time in mapmaking, building maps to play with the friends that I have pestered into buying this game.
Can be as cheap as $4 on sale!

The DLC is expensive, and perhaps worth it if you love the game; but the game is still 95% playable without it IMO, and you can still play with people who have the DLC.
