I cannot recommend this game as it contains an always online DRM as a single-player game.

Art: Hi-Fi rush cell-shading works wonder and will ensure that this game remains fresh years from now.
It meshes well with the anime like cut-scenes and the memorable over-the-top character intro.
The music is delightful especially the last boss battle first phase.

Gameplay: This game mainly consists of 3D phases in semi-open settings, with occasional 2D or scripted phases inside some level. The levels are well designed with plenty of indication justified by game lore.
Standard enemies are varied, with singular patterns befitting of a good rhythm game.
Boss are memorable, each offering his blend of rhythm based challenge.
I first played the whole story line in hard mode in about 14h with a pretty good completion rate. There is a steep increase in difficulty in the last boss phase of the last level (took me more than an hour).

Settings: Hi-Fi rush ultra corporate setting is compelling. It lends itself to short and impact-full jabs at corporate culture but stops short of any meaningful criticism. Having a big corporation at the helm of the entire world and no rule of law is considered normal. The characters do not fight against that which was a bit surprising. I think it helps to keep the lighthearted tone of this adventure but I am a bit sad it was not more explored.
