I love Borderlands. I've been playing since the original PS3 and Xbox 360 (had it on both). I've gotten to share this series with my extended family, my brother in law, niece and nephew. We all play part 2 and wanted to do a "BL series marathon."

I've had this game for a bit longer than them, and, in single player mode, it's absolutely fine. Better graphics, a mini map (thank god for that especially with the gun part missions!) and all the stuff from the OG game. However, some markers are off, and don't give the exact locations, other times it does.

However, when playing multiplayer...hoho...this game is trash! Below are the specs we tried to have a game at...
My specs: Ryzen 5 2600, RTX 2060 KO, 32 GB Ram at 3200Mhz, on a 1 TB SSD
Niece: Ryzen 5 3600, RTX 2060 Super, 16 GB Ram at 3000 MHZ, on a 2 TB HD
Bro in law- i5 4440, 16 gb ram (dunno frequency), on a 500 GB SSD.
Nephew- i7 4790, GTX 1060, 8 GB Ram, 2 TB HDD.

We hopped online, and the UI for inviting isn't as easy as in 2 or 3....I wish they had streamlined it. That aside, when I joined my nieces game, I was getting very poor fps...MSI afterburner showed anywhere from 10 to 25 fps. On single player, I was getting high 60s, low 70s. So I struggled through it, we got to level 15, and got to Sledges safehouse...that's when FPS for both of us dropped to under 20 FPS...The textures would also fail to load in, and after a minute, they loaded in. However, this caused me to lag immensely and end up dying more often than not.
Also, once you're in game with friends, it has a team speak, so you don't have to use steam/discord unless you want to. Make sure to mute them if you use an outside team chat. This chat function resets itself each and every time you log in to the game. So as a result, if you forget to mute your friend, you'll be hearing them echo.
As for my brother in law and nephew, they crashed upon start. I'm not sure why, but he's not the most tech savvy, and he didn't explain what happened so I couldn't help them.

So while this is playable and looks beautiful on single player, it's NOT good for multiplayer.

Single player 8/10
Multiplayer 2/10.

After all these years, it's still one of my favorite games. It's a great looter game, more fun with friends though. It's got comedy, action, a bit of sadness, and EXPLOSIONS (not endorsed by Torgue in any way). A very fun game that has aged pretty well. If you want a good looter that doesn't need a constant stream of DLC to make it good like Destiny, get this! (I've owned it on PS3, Xbox 360 and PC....I like this game a lot)

Ok, this review may be slightly biased, as I own this game on the PS1 and have put over 500 hours on it on the PS1 alone, and this is my favorite Final Fantasy, and I still use the original discs.

This FF is different from the others, particularly from the battle system. Leveling up isn't all that important, it's all about the junction system. In most titles, you have MP, this one, you have a "draw" system, and gain magic from your opponents. This has been one of the things that endeared me to this game, while at the same time, is a pain.

As far as the story goes, I like it. It is somewhat confusing at times, but the evolution of how the main character changes really strikes home with me. The development of the characters was good, and things I also appreciate that certain actions can have an effect in the later game (though nothing game altering, there are some things that can be missed). The enemies level up as you do, so if you decide to only level up 3 characters and decide screw the others, well, that's not going to work all that well.

The things I'm disappointed in the steam version is the sound. The sound is MIDI, so it's not as good as the PS1 version (cue console people to say PC isn't the master race lol). But it is a faithful port, and honestly, I have to say, just play it. It may not be for everyone, but I thoroughly enjoy and love this game.

I'm sorry I can't really put how much I love this game into words and write a "professional" review, but this is what I have to say.
