Ive been actively playing dark and darker for an little more than half an year now with over 250 hours clocked in, and i can honestly say, that the game is really fun and has alot of content and funny memories for anyone, that can push through the steep learning curve as an beginner.

It of course has its flaws, most commonly seen in questionable balancing decisions made by Ironmace, which in my eyes is not really an problem though, considering this game is their "firstborn child", an early access AND in first line an dungeon crawler game, which many people tend to forget.
You can literally just dodge player encounters, if they arent your thing. Ironmace is also scarily fast with their content/hotfix updates, which is really refreshing looking at the modern "AAA" games, supplying their playerbase with around one hotfix every half an year.

The combat is charming and not really complicated to get into, but also not too shallow that it gets stale after 3 duels.
All the negative review bombing mostly comes from the sadly quite toxic community, which is unhappy to not get the ENTIRE game for free, only the normal mode (which wasnt even planned and only announced like an month ago, to make platform migration easier), and honestly, the game's worth every little cent in my opinion.

An good 70% of the game is now accessible for F2P's with legendary capped normal dungeons, the only major things missing being trading, highroller (which is pretty much only an more challenging and rewarding mode compared to normals) and having multiple characters.
So i say give the game an try, especially now with the F2P version, and after that judge, if it is worth 35$ for you! Personally i havent regret paying for the game even once yet, and i hope yall's come to the same conclusion after giving the game an shot!

See you down in the Dungeon, Adventurers!
