Edit: 7/15/2021, After a long wait the patch has been released. The game runs a lot better now.

Edit: 4/11/2021, I wanted to say that even though I needed to include the mod to make sure the game ran properly I still had a good time with it. The story and game play are really good. If you still want to get the game on Steam I would wait for a sale.

Original: The Steam version of this game has been marred with bugs for around 4 years. Just recently Square Enix added NieR:Automata Become as Gods Edition to Gamepass for PC where the port is functional without the need for the Special K mod. I was able to play through the game from start to finish with that mod but I honestly find it annoying that Steam users even needed a mod just to play though the game to begin with. I do not recommend buying this game from Steam until Square puts out a patch for it that brings it into parity with the Become as Gods Edition on the Microsoft Store. If Square puts out a patch then I will change my review.

Very similar to Ace Combat but still maintains its own identity as an arcade air combat sim. Highly recommend.

First Mech game that I've played and its a lot of fun. I've never played Armored Core but this is supposed to share some similarities with those games. Hopefully there will be a sequel because here aren't enough games like this on Steam. Performance wise it is fantastic, XSEED went above and beyond with this port.
