Floki son Velgard

Floki son Velgard (Raven's Flock) was the first Norwegian who has visited Iceland.

Floki found out about the island, which was located on the West and decided to settle there. He went with the family, and the way he pointed out three consecrated in Norway crow. On the way Floki made a stop in the Faroe Islands, where he married one of the daughters. Gardara to the Island he came from the East, and then sailed along the South coast. The Norwegians stopped in a place later named Lake Fjord. There were a lot of fish, and the settlers engaged in fishing, not prepared enough hay. Over the winter the whole of their livestock died. Spring was cold. Floki climbed to the top of one hill and from it saw in the North of the fjord, filled with floating ice. So he called the Ice island Country of Iceland.

Floki wanted to go home that summer, but had no time to prepare for departure and Zasimova on the island again. He sailed to Norway next summer and upon returning spoke of a new land bad. One of his companions, Herold were objective in their stories, and the other, Thorolf told us that in Iceland, the oil dripping from every blade of grass, for which he received the nickname of Thorolf Butter.
