Super fun, but fairly disorienting in VR. While the gameplay is very very repetitive, it really does keep you on your toes the whole time. Graphics and atmosphere are top notch for a VR game. All in all, I will be throwing a few more hours into it.

I will admit that JPOG, with some mods, is still to this day my favorite park builder. Which is why I had high hopes for this game, lauded as JPOG’s spiritual successor, and maybe my expectations of it having a bit more depth was too high.
So, there are some aspects of gameplay that have more depth like managing electricity, genetic editing, and… story? I really love the gene editing and the stats that it affects, truly the best gameplay mechanic of the game. But the number of features missing from both JPOG and Planet Coaster is, to say the least, disturbing.

The first thing I noticed missing, from both JPOG and PC, is the ability to randomly generate a plot of land and build like in career mode, slowly building up your research and unlocking things. Your options are either A) play though some very weirdly designed and small career mode islands or B) play in sandbox on a medium sized plot of land with the things you unlocked in career mode for free. To me, that is just not acceptable, especially since Isla Nublar is only big enough for very few large enclosures. Then there is the guests. I guess I understand how giving buildings needs and ignoring and guest development saves on memory and probably saved a good amount of development time but I really can’t think of another game that doesn’t have guest needs.

I dunno, I could go on, but in truth this is just like a reskinned JPOG with very few aspects of PC thrown in and a ton of features from both removed. But hey you get more dino variety.. dinos who have crazy needs and go on other dino killing rampages despite not being hungry... which I hope is jus a bug.

I, and obviously a good amount of people, just want these already established features of the genre implemented:
Autoselling fossils or a sell all button
Bigger islands or island generator that is like sandbox but with money concerns
Or just allow a modding community

Yeah… I would be willing to change this to a hard recommend if those (lack thereof modding because I know Frontier thinks it’s evil) were implemented.. you know things that they should have know were expected. But for now this feels like a $30-$35 game.

I bought this, weighted straps for my waist, ankles, and wrists for some fun and extra exercise on my off gym days. Two days later after hour long sessions, I will be giving up my gym time for this. This game should be mandatory for high schoolers who don't want to take gym class.

As a legit review though, this game is intense, strenuous, and kind of shallow. There isn't a story (or not one that I have found yet) and while this game is the definition of repetitive it is always exciting and will always get your heart pumping. Simply for the bloodlust and adrenaline you are guaranteed to get this deserves a 10/10, however I do have a few gripes. I do not see anywhere on the page or requirements but you HAVE to have a 360 setup and you HAVE to have room (no standing in one spot) or you cannot play this game. I also kind of have an issue with how you turn, because you have to turn in real life you have to constantly be conscience of your cord which really does not let you full emerse yourself. I feel like the developers should allow for turning via joystick to at least be an option until wireless VRs/VR attachments come out.

So if you have a 360 set up, don't mind sweating and potentially breaking something you need to buy this game.

Literally the ONLY bad thing I have to say about Bigscreen Beta is that it doesn't (currently) allow creating virtual monitors. The monitors you have is what you've got. With that whining out of the way, this is a must have and if you have a VR system and don't have this... You are doing VR wrong.

Side note: This actually pissed me off that I bought a 60 inch tv and that I havent touched since I got this. You cant beat your own personal movie theatre.
