Honestly, this game kinda holds up to this day, but it has the 2004 level of jank you might expect:
- blocky assets with flat textures
- janky control scheme, but you get used to it pretty fast
- janky AI - an enemy can stand behind a barrier that can clearly be circled around, but it just stays there and swings his sword around
- janky combat lock - once you lock to an enemy you find yourself far from it, and the character does not rush towards it

Some bugs i encountered on win10/ryzen/10 series Nvidia:
- during the 1st loading screen everything gets corrupted and you have to alt tab
- weird brightness where even if it's at max, it still dark (i just turn my monitors brightness up, but i like playing games with the brightness all the way up)

Despite the jank, despite the lack of "modern" grafics it's still a good old fun game. I started it around 2008 ish, before i even had internet just because the dude i got the pc from left it installed.

The only bad-bad part is the lack of controller support.It would have been amazing, but it doesn't have one. I found some tutorials on jerryrigging it, but i couildn't be arsed to actually do it all the way. It was released on consoles, but it i guess Starbreeze didn't bother.

11/10 would buy again

So,i got this game when it was FREE.99.but this is nice.like really.the eastetics are very nice in a Dali meets MC Escher.it plays with forced perspective and sometimes the solution to the puzzle is hidden by it.would not spend much money on it but a sale or less than 5 american pessos or something it's worth it.

i first played this game in the early 2000's.back then i haven't met a lot of games with "eye candy",but this one was one of the first the old pc i had could run it.i enjoyed so much that later i played the first 2,then this one again and thus filling in the gaps.now i lack the patience to play it again.the main reasons is that i became a QA tester and started seeing all of the bugs in it,a common issue with QA testers. even if,i fell in love with Garret.too bad that Square Enix pissed on the franchise.THANK GOD FOR THE DARK MOD.
