Biomutant I felt was a good game with a lot of potential—but was squandered, it felt like there were too many cooks in the kitchen. It needed more focus. While I love this game to bits I felt there was much needed quality of life changes needed. The environments were just astounding, the story was serviceable but I felt there needed to be something more to flush out the world the character inhabited, as well as their backstory. There is the potential of greatness here, it needed more thought put into it. The Story felt flat at times, if Toxonol was a big bad here, make it a ever looming presence, flush out humanities downfall on why they had to leave Earth. It would've been awesome if you did have to fight the corrupted humans who stayed on earth. Make them mutated and scary, the game hinted as such where those who stayed where mutated and corrupted to the point where they were no longer recognizable. Also If the Antagonist, Lupa-Lupin, is an ever looming threat, make him a stalker like enemy who gets in your way at times. I mean hell, he killed your mother, make him a threat throughout the game where it tests your skills on how to keep him at bay. Where the Protagonist is conflicted with what their mother taught them, so when you do make the choice to spare him. Make it worthwhile in terms of the moral choices you make.

The Classes and Tribes: The Classes I felt needed more polish—as some felt like more love and care was put into them. The Dead-Eye class for example, this games version of a Ranger/Gunslinger. Felt way flushed out. It focused more on ranged attacks and critical strike. Same with the Psyfreak and Mercenary class with Intelligence and Toughness respectively, the other classes such as the saboteur or Tank classes felt weak perk wise. In my opinion they should’ve allowed you to multiclass form the vary get go when you reached a certain level. Or hell, make it where the Sifu of a tribe can help/teach you how to multi class if your reputation was high with them, or add an incentive where the Sifu of can add an exclusive perk. Let’s say if I join the Ankati and max them out, Sniper (the Ankati Sifu) will reward you with a faction perk that makes you better with the tribes Bow and Arrow weapon and allowed you to upgrade it further. I felt certain mods on guns should’ve been class exclusive. Ricochet was too overpowered when combined with certain parts, you had a legendary tier weapon that outclassed others you found in the field. Some weapon mods felt like you had no impact at all and were just gimmicky.

The Narrator: Let’s answer the elephant in the room: The Narrator. I sometimes felt he should’ve been spread out and only narrate key moments in the game. There were times I turned him off, I will admit. There were times I just wanted to read what NPC’s were saying. Rather than let him read it for me. While I will admit if you change the narrator to Japanese or Italian it does change the game’s tone. Especially if you change it to the Japanese narrator it really changes the vibe to a more miyazaki feel to it. I joked the Japanese Narrator was a man of a few words and was serious, while the Italian narrator was much more chill and relaxed funny enough.

Was Biomutant terrible? No, but there is a community that loves this game. I feel that Experiment 101 needs to allow players to mod the game. It needs a ton of quality of life changes, the menu system, the combat, and some tweaking of the class specific perks to make it more impactful. This is where a large modding community like with Elder Scrolls can really shine. To add things like flushing out the combat more and make the tribes more impactful. I will admit, if they make a sequel, they have the foundation and learn from it.

Review: For those Heroes 3 and 2 Veterans back in the day. This is pretty much the spiritual sequel to the Heroes of Might and Magic franchise. I remember playing Homm 2 and 3 back in the day as a teenager, staying up all night playing. Hero's Hour Feels like they took the silly Cartoony elements form Homm 2 and gave it all the quality of life changes and expansions of Homm 3. They even put in a bit of Homm 4 and 5 sprinkled in. It feels like the Homm greatest hits album. Down to the skills and units, even factions, it is a love letter to the Homm of old. Its a must buy for Heroes of Might and Magic fans.

Gameplay: Like in Homm 4 your Hero can participate in fights and cast spells. Need not to worry, your Hero cannot die and instead is put on cooldown. As for the Factions, they are all here. For example: Wild is Rampart from Homm 3 in play-style and units from Homm 2 in the mix up, However unlike the sorceress of old, the Phoenix is not here and instead replaced with a titanic Dendroid Soldier, and Order is the Knight Faction from Homm 2 and with the creatures from 3 sprinkled in, They even brought back the Paladin. Necromancer is still as broken as it is in Homm2 and 3, and is still banned due to the swarming of skeletons in multiplayer however via lan, hopefully they have online multi someday. So overall most of the factions are pretty much the same. Also take note, unlike in Homm, Hero's Hour has live combat, and is not turn based, instead you have to order where your units to go and they do the rest. Your Hero is in the thick of it. Casting spells and fighting.

Difficulty: This game does not hand hold you at all, it does give you a tutorial and that's it. Play on easy as it is this games 'normal' setting, while Normal is 'hard' and legendary is 'insane'. So be weary of this. Some factions are still being nerfed and balanced so, be weary, there be broken factions out there. And the Ai abuses this.

TLDR Review : Dragons dogma was a great game when it came out on PS3 back in May 2012. The Dark Arisen Edition has added some quality of life improvements but besides that, it’s a fresh coat of paint on an old reliable. It had innovative mechanics not often seen. It’s a recipe of Dark Souls combined with Monster Hunter, with a dash of Elder Scrolls mixed in.

Pros :

Class System : Classes you can mix and match into hybrid Classes. Want a Wizard and Ranger? Well you got it in the Magic Archer. Want a mage and a warrior? The Mystic Knight is for you, it’s basically the Paladin. You can mix and match perks from all the classes to make your own.

Climb That Monster : You want to climb onto this big massive creature? Climb on it, shadow of the colossus style. Then hit it in its obvious weak spot.

Innovative Pawn system : Basically create your own NPC Friend that will level up and be any class you want (just not the hybrid ones.)

Open World : Like in elder scrolls or Baldur's gate, Gransys (The game universe you are in) is about half a Skyrim map big. I may be half the size, but there is a lot to do.

Cons :

Sloth : It has a very slow beginning, like most RPG’s this will tutorial you to no end till you get an hour into the game.

Grindstone : Oh yeah, you will be grinding that vocation experience to get the perks you want. As well as leveling up can be a chore.

No Impact : Some quests have almost no impact on the main storyline, and it is somewhat daunting when something major happened in a quest. Only for the characters to act like it never happened.

Difficulty Spike : Oh you will encounter this a lot. It is easy one minute, and the next, the bosses and monsters in this open world will downright wreak you. Also the class you chose in the beginning will also factor in the difficulty. Some classes have a high skill curve.

People give Shadowrun HK a lot of flak for not being as strong as SR: Dragonfall. But to be frank I prefer this more than the other two games in the series. Shadowrun HK, gives us a more relatable story then Dragonfall. But I can see where people would split in two between these stories.

Unlike the other two games you do not start as a shadowrunner, rather you and your adopted brother are forced into the underworld of shadowrunning by force. As you have to investigate your foster father’s past and why a certain cooperation wants you dead.

There was a lot of quality of life changes in the karma system for instance, the perks you can get by investing points into said skill tree have more of an impact. Like Body for instance. Upgrading it opens up more essence slots for you. So if you play as a Wizard/Decker, you can augment yourself to better handle the situations you are often put into at a moment’s notice without the fear of increasing your spell cooldowns. Decking needed a massive overhaul, and love it or hate it. This game had a more immersive hacking system that felt like the tabletop roleplaying game. You had to be stealthy while in the matrix and hack into programs without setting off any alarms. Combat had a much needed quality of life change as well. As the User interface was much more streamlined and easer to access then Shadowrun Returns or Dragonfall. Not to mention, Shadowrun HK has more likeable characters then the previous entries.

Now don’t get me wrong, there are some cons in the character development compared to Dragonfall. While I will admit Isobel was kind of weak in the writing department when you compare her to Blitz. Is it just me, or the Decker charactrers often have the most boring personalities? Often when you get to know Isobel she stonewalls you. Gobblet was on the cusp of being a chill character, but I felt she need some redeeming qualities, instead she lectures you about how to be a proper shadowrunner. When in fact she kind of sucks at it and she does not learn from her mistakes at the end when compared to Dietrich. Duncan was your voice of reason, with a huge chip on his shoulder. I will admit I liked Duncan more than Eiger, Duncan had some redeeming qualities and in the end I felt he was on the cusp of being a good character. The best written character was by far Racter, your rigger of the group. His background and dialogue was intriguing and well worth your time doing his storyline. Gaichu as well falls into this category as well. With its flaws you can tell it was on the right path, and in a sense is a flawed masterpiece. Overall I give it a high score.

Beware before you buy this game Darkest Dungeon. Now do not misunderstand I love this game, but this is not for the faint of heart. This game is made to screw you over, and put you in the most terrible of situations, it all depends on how you prepare for it. Half this game is about planning, what to bring for the mission. Beware at naming your characters friends and family, as you’ll get attached and they will sometimes die. I mean heck I do it and I felt like a horrible person if I had to dismiss them or they were gruesomely killed. As I rewrite this I felt I wrote it unfairly. So getting further into the game, I will admit this is one game. There can be some improvements to the items and the cost of some upgrades. It’s a brilliant game and just be careful. This is a gold standard to early access games, an exemplar, of the formula working. I love this game, even if it is a abusive relationship. odd I know but heck I love hard games.

Positives

+ Innovative gameplay, each class puts different talents on the table. Want a finesse fencing fighter, that can dodge blows and critical like mad; but is also flexible? Get a Grave Robber. Want a character who can both tank and heal? Grab a Crusader. Etc
+ Art is exquisite, it fits the lovecraftian dark theme of hopelessness of it all. It has some inspiration from X-com meets dark souls. It has a dark graphic novel esthetic.

+ Sound design is great. It really has the disparity of it all.

+ Battle is refined, its form following function with every piece and detail, there is a huge amount of strategy, and you are forced to try out new classes, strategize. It’s satisfying. Be prepared to think on the fly.

+ It has a high risk high reward game play, the further you are on the edge, the higher the intensity. You get this adrenaline rush when you succeed and get the epic loot at the end

+ That announcer, I swear when he says: Confidence surges as the enemy crumbles. Makes me just bloodthirsty when you crit.

+It fits the dungeon theme right, they are terrifying, full of risks, and they are the dark secrets of the world. Those whom dare to explore them they will find great relics and wonders, but also the world’s greatest horrors. A dungeon is not a place to get free riches, they are a test of your perseverance and will.

Negatives

- This Game is not fair, it will put you in the most horrible situations that are unwinnable
- A lot of your attacks is a roll of the dice, same as the enemies so they can one hit kill you. Combat can be just risky at times.
- Have no emotional attachments to your team, it will only lead up to disappointment
- Be prepared to restart the game a lot….A lot. Salt will be common here
- Later weeks will become impossibly hard I got to week 70 and everyone died. No money and I am screwed.
- Dodging is a farce, as there will be moves that cannot dodge even with high dodge
- The enemies will always get initiative before you, and will always go first and sometimes they will cheat and hit you twice even if you have more speed. Yes I looked my perks and none of them were slow draw.
- There will be plenty of B.S parts where even common enemies will one hit kill you, no deaths door where you have a chance to save them, nope, they die
- Money and treasures are fickle, at times you will get almost nothing at times for going through a dungeon where surviving is your treasure, along with your team to be mentally intact.
- Bosses have instant one hit kill team wipes, they cannot be interrupted. Bypasses all armor and causes max stress.
- Even if you come prepared, you will still get your butt handed to you
- Stress is B.S at times where having a great virtue when maxed out stress and getting a good virtue is rare. There are times where a hero will refuse to be healed, as negative perks when max stressed will always happen. He is about to die and just gives up, the team then gets maxed out stress and one of them gets a heart attack.
- Murphy’s Law, the game. What Can go wrong will go horribly wrong.
- Enemies level up with you to rookie to veteran and they will always have better stats then you, I know a challenge to one thing but I feel that this game spikes up from hey let’s start you easy, to punching you in the stomach and shoving your face in the mud telling you: Know your place human. This game is Bipolar like that

" I can't become king if someone else already sits on the throne."- Nickolai Luzhin. ( Kingslayer Barnaby)

If you are a fan of Dungeons and Dragons mixed in with Game of Thrones, with a Dash of An American Tale. This Game is for you, the art is just a feast for the eyes. Each character is unique in both appearance and design. For a board game that encourages adventure, it is truly a unique experience. As I played hours as Barnaby, the Screwloose genius who’s pretty much a medieval MacGyver in brass armor and is a tan Rabbit. Using certain item combinations, I used my bag of tricks I outsmarted the guards and killed the evil king. The land is once again cleansed of evil. The age of oppression is gone, finally we took back our home! We must fight the evil, and this land is once again ours and we’ll see it wiped clean of the scourge of Rot Banes that has ruined Armello. Free from tyranny! Armello will see freedom. Let the other houses squabble while someone takes the initiative. I see Barnaby sitting on the throne after killing the evil king, bruised and battered, He remembers all those whom have given their lives to see him succeed; as he now contemplates on bring back the Armello to its former glory.

( And This is my story when I played the game. This happenes everytime when I play this game online. It is just..I am a loss for words. It is unique in everyway and I hope to see more from this series)

This game is centered on killing the Evil King who’s ruled the land for far too long. He is plagued with the disease known as the Rot, a sickness that turns the characters into crazed killers, as it corrupts the mind and makes them into shadows of their former selves. Combined with political treachery and betrayal from the other houses, you cannot trust anyone in this game, not even your own house! It is a mad dash to the throne, whatever way possible. Cure the king, but in doing so he dies. Or challenge him to a duel. become a kingslayer that killed the mad king. You can even go the political game and gain prestige, by gaining the peoples approval. However you can go to the darkside and kill other players and become corrupted with the rot, sending Armello into eternal darkness. You have the power to do anything, just make sure it is the right one. This game is not perfect but it is a good start. I want to see this series grow into something wonderful.
