"A Pseudo-Perfect Crescendo of Greek Mythology and Roguelike Genius"


In a gaming landscape dominated by mega corporations and money leeching tyrannical developers, it's rather incredible that a relatively small indie studio pulled out this masterpiece. The combination of a lenient interpretation on ancient Greek mythology, ARPG and roguelike elements as a trio mesh together in a sort of pseudo-perfect crescendo of creativity and adrenaline-inducing gameplay.

The game greets you with probably the sexiest drawings of the mythological Olympian Gods (well at least clothed ones). They help on our journey away from your seemingly tyrannical and stubborn father.

You've got four acts, each with a unique boss. It's the exhilarating sensation of beating the game on a new weapon or strategy the keeps me coming back every few months to play this masterpiece again and again.

You learn of Nyx and the Mirror of Night which offers you a place spend your hard-earned currency for new powers and boons going into runs. Individually their bonuses are small but together they form the basis of entirely new builds. Not to mention that there's a whole unique set of bonuses the Mirror will introduce to you later in the game which will draw back into a drunken stupor playing this game on repeat and gooning over its tasteful depictions.

Game's probably good for more than hundred hours but even if you only played 25 hours it's well worth it's retail price. I'd argue they could've sold a hit piece like this at 50$ but I'm glad they didn't choose greed.

There's a plethora of weapon and weapon combinations. Keepsakes and other unique items from the Gods that will keep you experimenting. If you enjoy action games at all you'll love this one. It's also the perfect game to start on your first roguelike.
