This game will have more content on the way. If you saw the showcase, you'd know there's more suits, more story, more modes in the works. As of now, don't buy it full price. Buy it on sale. Otherwise, great brainless PvE fun with friends.

Games like this are what make Arcade racers look and feel like ♥♥♥♥. Formula Retro Racing feels like a high school student project, less so a competent and enjoyable arcade racing experience. Makes me wish 90 Arcade Racer (90s Super GP) was bought out by someone else and published. The controls feel super slippery on both car classes, drifting feels boring, the music is royalty free garbage, graphics? Eh, I've seen better. This game promises a LOT for a game that gives so little back to its community. I feel sorry for all the peeps that backed this game. Looks like a Daytona USA and Virtua Racing, but plays like none of them, and not in a good way.

I'm gonna avoid being a drone and point out the biggest issue of all. WHY give us a free-to-play version that only lets us play training stages, and not a single campaign map from the last 3-4 years. Just, ONE would've been fine. I hate subscription-based services, this is no exception. At least give us a version that lets us buy ALL the courses by themself.

I've been following this project since 2017, and I'm still proud to say: This game is GODLIKE!!!!! Rivals of Aether is a platform fighter created by Dan Fornace, composed by Flashygoodness. What happens when you take Super Smash Bros Melee but you made more centered around the community, both in gameplay and balance, and make an extremely fun platform fighting experience. Unfortunately, this game isn't as easy to get into as it seems for people who have never touched a platform fighter before. I will mention that right now. So if you're someone who hasn't touched the genre before, and want to get into the game, jump into tutorial mode to get a good idea of how Rivals plays.

Gameplay: 9.5/10

The SOLE reason I play this game, like many others, is for its hyper-speed combat. On top of this game being insanely fast, they introduce new mechanics like directional air dodges without going into pratfall, and the biggest selling point for me: Hitfalling. You know how when you hit an opponent it puts you in hitpause? Now imagine doing that the second you hit someone with an aerial. For example: Sex kick, right? But what if you could fastfall it immediately on contact? Sounds crazy right? On top of the existing tech present between smash games, it ends up feeling like a whole different game entirely, and I LOVE it. Every fighter in the game has an "Element", which is basically the fighter's niche. thankfully, there are no elemental advantages, so pick whoever you want. For example: Zetterburn uses fire, which slowly peels away at your percent. Kinda like the flower effect in official smash. But not only does it chip away at you, but if they land a smash attack or sweetspot aerial, they explode! The only reason I'm not giving it a 10/10 is because this game doesn't have many defensive mechanics. The universal defense mechanics are rolling and parrying. Sure it works, but in most senses, this can become a problem for someone who wants to at least stand a chance against someone who has wicked offense. Otherwise, the gameplay here is one of the best of any platform fighter I've EVER played.

Story: 7/10

The reason the title is called rivals is cause, duh, all 4 elements are fighting each other: Fire, Water, Earth, and Wind. Basically Avatar but what if everyone was the fire nation and just waged war with each other. Lots of characters are pretty interesting, but nothing insane. If your someone who's looking for a fighting/platform-fighter with a story, Brawl will be the best we get. ;-;

Online: 8/10

From my experience with the base cast, it's pretty solid. Rollback netcode is included in this (Yet DBFZ doesn't wtf), so the online experience may vary, but it's mostly functional.

Modes: 6/10

Not quite the selling point of Rivals IMO, but the game has tutorials, character specific guides, replays, Tetherball, Turbo, Abyss, all very interesting ways of playing the game, but Story could use some touch-ups. It's super short, super fast, and unfortunately, lacks in a lot of areas. Hopefully, this'll be addressed in Rivals 2.

Workshop: 10/10

Workshop. Workshop. Workshop. Mods. Workshop. Praise Dan. Workshop.

Overall: 9/10

Rivals of Aether is an extremely fun platform fighter with lots of replay value online and offline, as for story based modes, it has potential but never took off. Any price this game goes for, full or discounted, BUY IT.

From the creators of Sonic Smackdown: ArcForged, comes Head 2 Head, A simple 2D fighter collectathon where you collect tons of heads to mix and match to create various playstyles. The game has a very unique concept and execution, which I will further elaborate into this review.

Gameplay: 4/10

The combat itself feels very off-putting. As someone who is extremely used to motion inputs, manually dashing, air-dashing and using 4 attack buttons, this game feels so awkward for me. And before you comment, this isn't a skill issue, it's a design choice I can't get behind. The game controls as follows: You can dash left and right by pressing said directions once. This can be done both on the ground and in the air. While sparring a very easy to grasp control layout, you also have access to 5 attack buttons: Strike (X/Square), Jump (Y/Triangle), Anti-Air (B/Circle), Projectile (A/X) and Skull (RB/R1). Pressing Skull twice results in a super, and pressing it once with a corresponding attack button performs a different string of attacks. While the simplicity is great and all, everything feels super off-putting. Nothing feels natural about the combo flow of this game, thus making combos feel awkward. If we were to compare this to say: Sonic Smackdown, Origin of Storms or UMVC3, this simple layout design choice isn't for me. The lack of crouch, motion inputs, meter or proper burst and an L M H S button layout annoys me. If this game had traditional elements from SSD or OoS, like motion inputs, double tap for dashing or 2 button presses, I would play the hell out of this. But as of now, I don't like playing it. While the gameplay itself, at least, isn't that fun, it isn't to say it's not interesting. The features for this game are pretty unique. Being able to change entire UI colours, fighter colours and stage colours seperately, it feels nice combining various colours. On top of that, the elements of a roguelike and a collectathon put into a fighting game sounds nuts, but he made it happen, and for that I give props. Each head you collect grants different stats, as for the stats themselves I don't quite know how each statistic works. With the ability to mix and match heads and bodies (bodies are basically characters, and each one is different), there's a pretty healthy amount of combinations. You can roll skulls to unlock new heads, but it uses skulls as a currency for a gacha machine, which is cool for a game like this.

Graphics: 8/10

Persona meets League of Super Evil, A very interesting blend of minimalist artstyle and cell shading in one game. Nice, vibrant and a little edgy.

Modes: 5/10:

As of now, we don't have access to Arcade or Head Hunter mode, but we do get Survival (earn skulls with it to buy more heads), Online, Versus, Free Play and Head Case, which is where you can view your collection or roll for some heads. Nothing crazy yet so, I'll give it a modest score.

Story/Characters: N/A

Story doesn't matter here. Won't count it.

Music: 9/10

Composed by the one and only TNHGameRemixes, composer for SSD, OoS and H2H. He makes amazing music, go check him out!

Online: ?/10

I put a question mark here since no one is currently playing this game online. I've tried multiple times to matchmake with other people, but with no luck. From what I see on steam though, it does have GGPO rollback netcode, which is a CRUCIAL aspect to all fighting games. It's great to see it with GGPO, so this is a good sign.

Overall: 5/10

Controls feel super clunky, unfamiliar and strange, the concept itself is really interesting, and the features here are nice. If the game had traditional controls like a regular 2D fighter, I'd give this game more time to play, but for now, it's not worth it in my opinion.

I don't normally play RPGs like this, but When I used Parsec on a friend's PC, this was a must-buy for me. I LOVE this game. Rogue Heroes: Ruins of Tasos is a dungeon-crawling multiplayer roguelite, heavily inspired by the top-down Legend of Zelda titles. You can play this game either by yourself, or with up to 4 players locally, or online with Co-op.

Gameplay: 7.5/10

Game feels extremely solid in terms of movement, combat, and usage of powerups and abilities. Super well done. I've never played Four Swords like other people have, but I HAVE played LTTP, and this feels 1-1 with it. You have access to 1 class as you start, and you can unlock 7 other classes (1 of which is DLC, but it's worth it.) in-game. Each class gives you special abilities based on who you pick, like Hero having a charge attack, Bomber having bomb jumps, Pirates having a parrot companion to save you from traps, Witches with potion specialisation, etc. Not only do you possess different abilities, but to balance out the game better, each class has different stats, which let you mix and match upgrades of your choosing, like weapons, tools, potions, stamina, health, etc. The upgrade selection is very proficient and nicely done. Being able to increase your attack speed, reach, strength and stamina consumption goes a long way. The game lets you build villages and other buildings that service different purposes, Like gym's for Stamina, Hospitals for Health, Shops for resources, etc.
My other issue is how the camera gives you fairly little room for being able to see with multiple players on screen, whether it's co-op local or online. If each player got their own screen, that'd be amazing. But for now, it's kind of a big problem to me. Although I understand why they went this route.

Graphics: 8/10

Very cutesy and adorable, centred around small pixel art-based characters, environments, objects and enemies. Fairly simple yet effective.

Story: 5/10 The game tries to centre the game around you, the main character, and your journey to saving Tasos. Nothing insane to write here in terms of plot. Just your standard "save the world" cliche. No princesses to save, so that's a refresher.

Online: 7/10 This game has a pretty good functional online system. It plays great, and it's fun with friends. My only reason I'm giving it a 7 our of 10 is cause this game does have a couple of issues with regards to online. First one, which does hinder progress sometimes, forcing you to abandon your run: Getting teleported in random places. So me and my group of friends decided to grab the Kezar Glove to go to the barn and grab a watering can. As soon as we got into the dungeon, we teleported to the top left of the map (The Arctic) and got lost. This does hinder progress as we walked all the way up to the Kezar caves, for our friend who didn't have the glove yet. This has also happened on a couple of different occasions, but for the most part, the glitch has been consistent. Even though the online is there, take it lightly with a pinch of salt when I say: This is the only Early Access part of the game that should've put the game back into it's EA state. There may be a couple of bugs that hinder the experience a fair amount, but i feel like in due time, this will be addressed. Hopefully.

Final Score: 7.5/10

Rogue Heroes: Ruins of Tasos is a Zelda-inspired roguelike with multiplayer elements and a healthy amount of content for its price-tag. From its solid gameplay to fairly decent multiplayer, i'd encourage you to buy this on sale, simply from the bugs I've encountered online. Otherwise, if you look past it, Rogue Heroes is a really fun game.

30XX, boy have I been waiting for this for a while now! LOVE this game. If you love Mega Man X, you'll love this.
30XX is a roguelike MMX styled platformer, with 2 playable characters as of now: Nina (X) and Ace (Zero).

Gameplay: 9/10 With the game still in early access, the game is a little buggy, but that can be fixed in time. The gameplay is addicting as hell, even as to someone who hasn't played any Mega Man X game before. Jump and shoot forever: as the game implies, you'll be running and gunning across multiple platform layouts across every stage, so all runs are different no matter what. Nina feels great and Ace is my favourite of the 2 so far. Multiple weapon choices make for crazy combinations, with many different armour sets that you can mix and match each playthrough.

Story: 0/10 For the sake of the review, the game's story isn't done yet, and even if it was, story won't affect its total review score.

Graphics: 9/10 Amazing pixel art for everything in the game. Really well done!

Online: 7/10 As of this review, the online is a little bit buggy, but it functions good enough to play. You may encounter 1 or 2 bugs frequently, but that's par for the course. Unfortunately the bugs vary in scale, from desync issues to glitching out of the level stuck in a position.

Level Builder: 8/10 I haven't made many maps with this feature, but the level builder is very nice and fairly flexible. What's cool is once you beat the game, you can not only use this mode, but also enable user generated chunks in your playthrough, offline or online. Some are good some are bad, as per normal.

Overall: 8/10 As of this review, the current 30XX experience is amazing. If you're someone who's looking for the next Mega Man X game, look no further than here.

Crawl is a dungeon crawler Roguelike multiplayer title in a game of survival and demonic summoning and satanism.

Pros: Extremely fun multiplayer game, simple combat system, terriyingly excellent pixel art, upgrades, progression, and unlockables.

Cons: No online multiplayer.

Gameplay: 9/10 Simple yet effective 2 button combat system. A to attack, B to dodge, or if you're holding certain items or playing as a demon, becomes a special attack button. As a survivor you can do 2 things: Attack and dodge. As a monster, you have various abilities and attacks, you can possess objects, furniture, bosses, and enemies on screen. Think of Cappy but working against you. Levelling up your hp, getting new weapon types like swords, daggers, bows, greatswords etc. DO NOTE this game will delete your username, thus your progress, if you lose 3 times to the final boss. Game can be very unforgiving, but it's also a really unique twist on progression as a game. Kinda like how minecraft has a hardcore mode, if you die the whole world and all your progression gets deleted.

Visuals: 8/10 Looks amazing, lovely pixel art here.

Cons: No online multiplayer. Sad they couldn't do online multiplayer as of recent, this game would've been the perfect online multiplayer package.

Overall: 9/10 The only reason this game isn't getting a 10/10 is cause it has no online multiplayer. Go pick it up and play over Parsec otherwise. a hidden gem for steam players.

If there's one of many things I grew up on, it was the Castlevania series, primarily the trilogy, 4, and SoTN. I'm more than proud to say, this game delivers on ALL fronts as an Igavania/Castlevania-inspired title! Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is an Igavania created by... well.... Koji Igarashi. Duh LOL.

Gameplay: 10/10

Combat feels rich and fluent, dash cancelling from SoTN makes its return and boy does it ever carry through the first 90% of the game. Not only does every weapon feel different, but also offers a vast array of play-styles suit for anyone's needs. Want a sword? Got tons of those. Maces? Yes sir. GUNS!? Damn, I didn't think those would work in this type of game, but they do. If you do plan on playing with guns, please do note that they aren't the most effective method of combat, so the game rewards you for going up-close and swinging at 'em. You have Shoes, Swords, Daggers, Clubs, G-Swords, Katanas, Spear, Whips, and Firearms. Quick disclaimer though, whips function different here than in the classic castlevania titles. On top of the already incredible selection of weapons, you also have mother f***ing FIGHTING GAME INPUTS!!! (I'll use the numpad for reference) 22s? 236s? Fireball inputs? Shoryus? this game has them for various weapon types, and it's awesome! and transformations!? You got bunny chicks and f***ing Shovel Knight, already one of the best indie games out there.

With the gigantic rack of weapons to choose from, you also get Shardbinders, which not only enhance the way you play, but can also be used to create a slew of various mix-and-match play-styles suited for you. whether it's simple projectiles like an axe, holy water, magic projectiles, or even summoning a double dragon head!? This game has a WEALTH of content for what its worth. With red shards you get new projectiles or powers you can shoot. with blue shards, you can either transform, boost, or access certain parts of the level you couldn't before. With yellow shards they can passively buff your character like buffing your firearms, sword, great-swords, etc. with Green creatures you can summon the creatures you've killed. Yes, you can SUMMON the monsters you've killed, like floating pigs, plant traps, rats, anything bizarre really, it's amazing. and last but not least, with white shards, you will unlock new abilities with Miriam which you can equip all of at once. These include double jumping, swapping and creating weapon sets, sinking in water, increasing stats, or even seeing through walls. The combat in this game feels like the best of any Igavania I've ever played.

Graphics: 9/10

Beautiful cell-shading handcrafted by the team at Artplay. All the visuals hold up extremely well for the game it is. At first when they showed this off earlier on the kickstarter page prior to the update, I felt super skeptical in terms of how it looked. Now, with the final release here (2019), the game looks incredible, plays amazingly, and sounds great.

Story/Characters: 7/10

Granted I'm not good at retelling stories through reviews, I can give you the rundown straight from the Steam page: "Play as Miriam, an orphan scarred by an alchemist’s curse which slowly crystallizes her body. In order to save herself, and indeed, all of humanity, she must battle her way through a demon-infested castle summoned by Gebel, her old friend whose body and mind has become more crystal than flesh." Sounds badass right? On top of the interesting story that this game has, there's a major plot twist which I won't spoil cause it'd ruin the experience. Needless to say, it made me sad. Story is really good.

Content: 10/10

On top of being able to play the game as Miriam, you can also play as 2 other characters as of this review. Both of them feel incredible and diverse in their play-style. Not only does each character possess different traits, but their movement speed, controls, and special inputs feel great! That's not even mentioning we have 1 more character left to be unveiled later down the line. That's INSANE!! So when all the content drops, we will have 4 playable characters. The modes in this game? Simply worth it. You've got single player campaign, new game +, roguelike dungeon mode, NIGHTMARE difficulty for the campaign, Speedrun Mode, a Randomizer, Boss Revenge mode, and Classic mode. NES and SNES castlevania fans will LOVE classic mode, or, "1986" mode as the gasme calls it. It's literally Castlevania, but you can backflip! SICK! The mode is a challenge if you want even more nostalgia goodness, from the title screen to the 8-bit soundtrack, this mode has what you'd expect from a classic castlevania game. With all of this content, this game promises more than what you see on screen, or read. It's something you have to experience. And that's not all, as of this review they're adding online play, a VS mode, and a local Co-op mode! WHAT!!?? Like, dude, I hope the people that made this have had enough sleep and food to grind all this out with their hearts, cause this game must've been a huge undertaking and a half with the wealth of content present here.

Music: 9/10

Sounds exactly what I wanted it to be, from the main menu to the credits, this games OST is worth selling alone. Harking to old music instruments with both orchestra and rock genres used effectively and beautifully, each song feels like it could weave a story.

Overall: 9.5/10

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is not only a love-letter to die-hard castlevania fans, but it's also one of the best metroidvania games on Steam you can possibly find. from its twisting and relentless single player, BULK of content, amazing OST, rich combat, to the current and upcoming modes coming to this game, it's more than just "A metroidvania," It's an Igavania with over 100+ of hours worth of content. Buy it now, full price, on sale, this man, and the devs behind it deserve all the praise it recieves from goers around the world.
