I could write a long list of little things that could have been done better (autosave function that goes off every 30 seconds), but it hardly matters compared to two main ideas:

what they DID do was to include pretty much everything you would expect from a gothic/risen game, and thats good.

what they DIDNT do was to know when to stop adding Things that really dont have any place in a "Gothic" successor (mini-games, cut-scenes that make decisions for you etc.). This wasnt a big deal early on in the game, but got MUCH worse as it progressed. As a result I would only recommend this to people who liked the previous risen's and can put up with some pointless mini-games.
