This game is pure grand strategy! You need to carefully evaluate every aspect, every resource, every political & diplomatic situation that occurs. Of course, there are some random decisions to handle, something like throwing a dice at times, which keep things in the mist, never knowing what future might present. This is true strategy gaming in my opinion.

This game has so much potential that it's a shame Paradox suspended their support. One of the most uninspired decisions imo.

Early Access Review
It feels like it's one of the best tactical RTS concepts. I hope that developers will finish the game soon, and fully release it.
As of current state (early acces), it lacks more campaign maps, perhaps more cinematics, more explanations in tutorials or elsewhere (which would make the game playable by many more players that currently are detarcted by the long learning curve). It need more content, but with the hope that it will become a full game sooner, it is something that I haven't seen in other kind of games.

I think there is no such war simulation out there, to come even close to this. This is an absolute masterpiece! Even though I didn't played it online, where people have crazy speed in doing this (can't keep up with them), it is worth for single player. You feel like you rewrite history with a XX century country, going though various national focuses and prepare yourself for the greatest war the humankind has even known, WW2. You make battle plans, you care for so many aspects of your military divisions, including fuel, breakthrough, organization, weather, terrain, etc. Man, this game is crazy! Hard, but beautiful!

A beautiful survival game. Great simulation using concepts inspired from possible future technologies, one which already has been realised experimentally using Perseverence rover (producing oxygen with MOXIE). Up to a point of course, then things are going to pure sci-fi, which is also nice. The game really puts you in a harsh environment where you need to make things going, to produce things in order to self-sustain your small colony, otherwise you are doomed. With the relevant expansion you can take the long jurney of terraforming Mars, generating a magnetig field to prevent the atmospheric loss, producing greenhouse gases for growing it's density, heat up the planet which will make rains possible, at first toxic rains, but as weather cycle runs, things will get cleaner, and the air breathable. I strongly recommend this game if you like city-building games, and especially if you are intrigued by Mars, the only planet in our solar system where we can go on foot.

The game is a powerfull 19th century simulation, where you can even learn about the victorian era. You have at your disposal an entire society to manipulate in trying to do both politics and diplomacy. It isn't a game about war first and foremost, but it is about geostrategy, about trying to be there, in the first line among the nations. In controlling the world market, producing goods, selling them, and when things seem out of hand, trying to obtain them through other means, either by uniting national markets, or by force.
It's a game about different social classes, about people and their needs. With this game it seems almost that you begin to care about those pops as human beings, with their own political views, reacting to different actions you make ina good or a bad way.
It also needs some improvements in diplomacy and with smaller nations, like Wallachia or Moldavia, for example, where at the time I write this review, there is no diplomatic help in achieving national unity.
But, for what it is right now, it's totally worth. Great sim! You can use it in schools too, for learning purposes!

Man, this game is so poorly optimised. I mean, isn't a rtx 3070, 16 gb ram and a ryzen 7 5000 series supposed to run this game properly at low, at least? Maybe if DICE wouldn't have introduced the 128 players thing, it would have been better for all!

This game is trully a medieval feudal simulator, with plenty of choices that shape the entire world. It sure needs some improvements, like focusing more on a kind of personal aura of the characters for building stuff, nicknames for doing things also highlighted on their memories, and EVENTS BASED ON THE PREDECESSORS and their deeds. But still, there is no other such game out there.

The best Total war up to date. I like how they made diplomacy play a more important role in the series. A Napoleon TW made in this way would be excellent!

It's a great game, a very complex medieval human interation simulator with plenty of opportunities that can alter every aspect of the game. The only real problem with the Paradox games, is that they don't have proper official tutorials to help the noobs better understand their games. It would be an even bigger community.
