Brick walled against first boss trying to learn its moveset. Ran out of money for repairs, no enemy respawns to farm for more money. Ran out of healing items, would have to step away from the boss and wait an unknown amount of time for materials to respawn to craft more healing items. First save/character essentially bricked in under 2 hours.

Wanted to support a solid dev, but this is ridiculous.

Amazing game that really leans into the satirical side of its themes and atmosphere...including how comically easy it is for disposable propaganda-fueled soldiers to die hilariously ignominious deaths. It's not exactly Destiny or Warframe, and to even call it "co-op" is debatable...but dying in various comedic fashions, often as a result of your own actions or those of your squadmates, is half the fun.

The other half is the wonderfully handled gunplay, variety of weapons that are still seeing regular balance passes, and lavishly--dare I say even beautifully--animated explosions from the various forms of orbital death you will be calling in. Graphically gorgeous for its price, too.

Definitely more fun with friends than strangers, but either way rest assured that you will die. Numerous times. You will panic and flee like a little democratic schoolgirl furiously jamming another mag into your gun while screaming for your friends to provide covering fire, and then be turned into giblets from the 500kg bomb they call down upon your position to "assist" you. But at the end of the day, it's alright, because your life is a small price to pay for Liberty.

Yes, I finished it in less than 30 minutes. And that is 27 minutes I do not regret. What's present here is essentially the tutorial level of a full scale game that, sadly, does not seem to exist and I'm really hopeful the devs will expand this into a full size game if it gains enough traction.

Ever wondered what puzzle platforming in Prince of Persia would be like in first person? That's a big amount of the feel this gives me, with some nautical theming and exhilarating aerial combat. The game is all about momentum; you have no sprint button, but as you move through the tutorial segments you unlock tools that let you launch into the air and move with ever increasing momentum and fluidity. Even when combat starts, it's all about staying in the air as much as you can. You're a sitting duck on the ground, but once you're in the air zipping back and forth between grapple points and popping enemies into the air so you can use THEM as grapple points, you become a force of nature and it feels IMMENSELY satisfying to clear an encounter without ever touching the ground once.

The graphics are nothing revolutionary, but they have a certain cartoonish charm that I enjoyed a lot, and the mix of mossy nautical caverns and ruined city infrastructure you travel through makes for a nicely memorable stage. I got turned around a couple of times with the level design, but I eventually managed to find my way through to the end.

The one little nitpick I have about this game is the use of F for the interact key instead of E like in most FPS games, and as far as I can tell the lack of any way to rebind keys. But for what's essentially a tech demo/vertical slice of a game I hope will someday exist, for that to be my only gripe is VERY promising. Please, devs, give us the complete Grimhook experience!

Censorship can kiss my ass. Make your own wholesome and puritan game about brutally beating people within an inch of their life instead of painting censor boxes all over this one.

Bought this back on release and, while I didn't have nearly as many issues as others spoke of, after a few visual bugs and a crash, decided to let it cook for a while and work on my backlog of other titles. Even then, I was pretty impressed by the potential there. Picked it up again this fall, and it really is a very solid game. I've only had a few minor graphical bugs this time through, some of which were just hilarious (like shooting an imaginary gun at my pursuers during a car chase).

I went in neither wanting nor expecting a GTA clone, but something closer to a Bethesda game, and I wasn't disappointed in the slightest by the gameplay. The variety of options available to handle combat scenarios, from stealth to guns blazing to high speed cyberninja melee to bullet-soaking bruiser, already has me wanting to plan another playthrough with a different type of character.

The dialogue is a bit more limited, you don't really get to roleplay "your own Cyberpunk character" the way you might in, say, Shadowrun: Dragonfall...V is very much a distinct character like Geralt of Rivia from their Witcher games, with your dialogue choices being more subtle influence on the character's personality, but even then many of the major quests I've played have allowed for multiple approaches to solve them depending on your skill build and optional objectives.

Maybe it's because I didn't follow the hype (ultimately I'd have preferred a Shadowrun game to a Cyberpunk game) and wasn't lead by bad marketing to expect something different...but CP2077 has gotten a far worse rap than it deserves. Give it a try, especially on sale, just know that you're getting Witcher 2077, not Red Dead 2077.
