A great game by its own merit tbh. I feel like it was very short, but when I looked back at my play time I noticed I had 50 hours in and I didn't do all side quests or tasks. It kept me engaged and immersed.

Gameplay mechanics were fun, the companion system was a vast improvement compared to other similar titles of the genre. The dialogues were great, and attention to a lot of details. The companions had a lot of character to them, and didn't just feel like a random NPC that follows u around.
Overall, this was a great experience, and if I had to rank it I'd say it was much more enjoyable than the other "space themed RPGs" out there.

This game's experience (which is already fun) is VASTLY improved by the fact the devs allow you to slap a streamable URL into the car's radio. I was able to put an FM radio station from my country and listen live to the program as I picked up anchors and dodged bunnies

I also STRONGLY recommend using a Dualsense (PS5) controller to play this WITHOUT steam input. The game is very well optimized for this controller, using a lot of the features like the trigger vibration or sensitivity. This makes stuff like slamming the brakes, accelerating, using tools, etc much more immersive and responsive.

Game became an instant 10/10 the moment I could craft instruments and play it along with my friends

Dont get me wrong the main game is ASS, and certainly not a Metal Gear game

HOWEVER

get this game for cheap (~12 dollars) and play Co-OP with your friends. If you aint slapping ur friend with an infinite supply of C4 before the match, you aint living. The online Co-OP can also be pretty fun specially if you are focusing on the daily and weekly challenges and events.
All the loot you get from co-op transfers to your main game too so you can get some very good weapons and XP and just stomp your way thru the campaign. I played with my friends and got to level 40 (max level before subclasses) before even finishing the first area in SP 💀💀💀

NO STEAM CO-OP

The game does not support an easy Co-Op experience. to play privately with your friends you MUST either rent a server, run a dedicated server in your computer, or "use Hamachi" (yes the devs said this unironically like its 2012).

Once I am able to create a local game my friends on steam can join in, I'll be happy to review the game again

If you are a normal human being living in 2024 or later and do not want to install Hamachi or some other BS, you can try setting up your own dedicated server with Port Forwarding so your friends can connect, but I dont wanna deal with all that (and likely some people don't even know how) so I'm surprised we even have this approach at all.

A great game developed by Black Matter, currently being ruined by Team 17.

Avoid purchase until T17 changes their ways.

Masterpiece - Acquired from Humble Choice however definitely worth buying at full price.
