They keep treating the game like it's a PVP one, overly nerfing decent weapons instead of buffing the trash ones. It seems there's no fun allowed, the game not being enjoyable anymore, because the balance team (if there's any) doesn't understand what they're doing each update.

EDIT: Finally some steps in the right direction.

Early Access Review
Game still has potential, however the devs won't do anything about it, so get Enshrouded/Palworld instead. They are too busy sitting on mounds of cash, snorting coke instead of adding any relevant content to the game in 3 years.

By the way, consider that these devs released a "devblog update" (nothing relevant in it, only to remind people that they still exist) and put Valheim on sale on the SAME day that Enshrouded gets launched. After being called out for it, they start to delete comments and ban people on the forum. Really scummy tactic, Iron Gate.

Remember the 2021 Roadmap? The modding community already did better everything that you promised in the first 3-4 months since launch. After 2 years we get Mistlands which is an uninspired, lazy implemented joke of a biome.

Don't buy this, it's just another case of devs getting blinded by money and success.

Early Access Review
For an Early Access title it feels almost complete and very polished.

The new Secrets of Gloomrot expansion addressed many aspects of the originally released game while also delivering new high quality content.

Great vampire game overall, definitely quenched my thirst for a new Legacy of Kain game, at least for a while.

Great design, however it is full of hackers at this moment making the game completely unplayable. There is not even a report button so you cannot help the developers in any way. Also, sometimes the servers are a mess, you get synchronization problems (this can be noticed in Tail Tag levels, people stealing your tail from huge distances). After one month, there is no new content, no new levels, just cosmetics.

It has great potential, however the updates are coming way too slow and the hackers problem should be immediately solved. Will change the review if these problems will be addressed.

Update: The hackers problem is no more, waiting for the second season now.

First of all, thank you THQ Barcelona for taking initiative, I've been waiting for this for the longest time. Not many developers would publish a demo nowadays, and that's much appreciated.

Even though this is going to be your first game, I'm sure you're going to get it right. People are complaining about the fact that you do not have enough experience, but back in 2001, Gothic 1 was Piranha's Bytes first game too, and it was revolutionary for that time, so the lack of experience doesn't mean that the game is going to be a failure. Also some of them are just fanatics and live in the past, so they won't accept a remake even though it is a good one.

Regarding the game at its current state, it needs a lot of work, but it is a prototype as you said. Take as much time as you need, don't try to rush it, because this game is worthy of a remake.

Some constructive criticism:
-rethink the dialogues because they sound cheesy (especially for the Middle Ages), the original games didn't have unnecessary lines (example: Bloodwyn mentioning kindergarten, there was no such thing in the Middle Ages); bad language wasn't present in the original game, personally I think it would not fit in the remake either; Diego's voice actor tries a bit too much, he's a bit too expressive, he's a convict and a rogue after all, not a poet; the same goes for nameless hero's voice actor, he sounds like a dummy;

-regarding the colors, there is too much saturation, they're too bright, the Gothic games have washed out landscapes, the world is a rough one, you need to make it seem harsh;

-there is too much handholding, too many hints, I understand that you want this game to be for everyone, but that's not how the Gothic games should be like, you need to reconsider that; you should not be able to fight something like a Snapper at the very start of the game, that's not how the original games were designed
;
-the soundtrack is not bad, but it is too Witcher-like, it would be wise to keep the original OST, it brings much nostalgia to older players and I believe the new players will enjoy it as well; maybe Kai Rosenkranz can make a return and compose some new tracks which fit the game more;

-sometimes the combat system feels a bit clunky, but I believe it is that way because the game is badly optimized, this shouldn't be a problem in the future, though; the For Honor combat style is a good choice, however there's too much HUD, the original games used to keep the screen as clear as possible, with minimal UI, because the game feels more immersive that way;

-remove the invisible walls, let us explore every single hole, cliff and corner, even though it's nothing to see there or if it's going to kill us, the classics didn't limit us in this regard;

-add the goatee (the beard) back for the Nameless Hero;

Overall it looks promising and if you're going to listen to the community's criticism and suggestions it is sure going to be a great remake. Thank you for bringing us back to the Colony!

The game is difficult at the beginning, but once you've figured all the enemies and classes it gets easier...and then the RNG screws you over.

This one is clearly an improvement to the previous game. People are overreacting regarding the loot boxes. You can get the true ending by not spending a single cent, and you can not even call it grinding. If you're at least decent at the game, you can solo any siege, you don't need chests to get legendary captains.
