It's been over 10 years and this is still one of the best Open World RPG's to date. The sheer freedom this game gives you will keep you playing over and over again because there's always more random stuff to do. And with the Morrowind Rebirth mod, it just get's even better. The world itself is bigger than both Skyrim and Oblivions, and since there's no fast travel, it forces you to explore it, and you'll love every single second of it. By far one of my favorite games of all time. A must buy for any Open World RPG fan(Keep in mind though that this was a much more hardcore game than it's sequels, Skyrim and Oblivion are both much more casual and you will find that this game is much harder in almost every aspect).
