The game is good, don't let the Day One review bombs fool you. If you're a fan of dead space like myself, you can really look past any performance issues and still have a really fun time playing around with the games mechanics like the GRP device and inventory priority. That said, inventory priority is not unfamiliar to fans of horror franchises such as Resident Evil or Dead Space. Each of those games requires you to pick and choose how to most efficiently navigate battles and survive in the game's world with limited inventory. In the case of the Callisto Protocol, you'll more often find that your inventory is full very often through early portions of the game. I am playing on Maximum Security (which is the hardest difficulty) and I find myself really enjoying the pressure of being forced to leave things behind. While other games would pride themselves on your ability to manage limited items, this game challenges you to choose and prioritize which items will be most beneficial to your survival. Wanna upgrade a weapon? Sacrifice a GRP battery for a decoder or a pristine energy converter. Find yourself loaded on ammo but no heals? Drop some of those bullets and grab a health injector (I usually carry 2 if possible). This game does not prove to be an impossible challenge if you just take your time and carefully plot out how you are going to get Jacob out of Black Iron Prison. Story-wise, this game does not initially interest me, but I find the setting, design, music, sound, and all of the technical aspects (apart from occasional stutters) to all be absolutely stunning and immersive.

TLDR: Game is good. Use your brain and you'll survive. A must play for fans of Dead Space. Beautiful game if you can handle occasional stuttering.

I like this game. I chop down tree. I become the cannibal. I transcend to heights that the likes of celebrity survivalist Bear Grylls could never dream of attaining.
