I've gotten past the name softlock by inputting numbers in my name's text string. Instead of Dusk, I'm DU5K. Annoying issue right off the bat.
The gameplay loop involves climbing a tower and beating Bladers to get random parts, exp and currency. When you battle in the overworld map you get a currency called EP used to upgrade your Bey parts. The gameplay loops is pretty satisfying and getting random bey pieces from your opponent harkins back to the old gba games I used to play.
The battles themselves could be great, but there's a rather annoying rock paper scissors scuffle that happens when you or your opponent fills the green bar. It completely breaks the flow of the battle. I think it'd be much better to have the green bar allow you to use a special move outside of a scripted sequence.
The game has a small grinding issue when it comes to upgrading parts. When fighting NPCs on the overworld map, they have the option of fighting a stronger version. They are about as twice as strong, but you don't get twice the value when it comes to rewards. The only different thing is the possibility of Bey piece that they bedazzled with glitter. If you're grinding solely for EP, then it's more ideal to ignore the challenge option since it takes longer (Unless you're strong enough to end them quickly).

I would rate this game more highly, but it has a lot of issues:
-The character naming softlock when you enter an "inappropriate text string"
-Japanese character name limit (4 characters for first name and 5 for the last name)
-Black screen after character naming if PC's language isn't set to English or Japanese
-Clumsy Switch Port = Button Prompts are all Switch buttons with no way to change
-Online issues. Sometimes non-host can't even see the when battling
-No stat comparison option in a game where you change parts constantly
-No crossplay so online will pull from an extremely small pool of people

It seems the Nintendo Switch version doesn't have these issues according to some people, but I wouldn't know. Also I'd like for some people to get the Steam version anyway so we can at least get a growing community. Only get this game if you REALLY like Beyblade.

I loved this game back in its original hayday. They rereleased it and initially I was excited for it, but they put a price tag on what was originally free, didn't let us have the skins we used to have, and the actual game was locked begind leveling your account. You was stuck in this stupid battle mode for the longest time. I didn't even get to the gamemode I WANTED to play because I was so exhausted from this stupid gamemode. I hope they make this game free so people can actually play it.

The gunplay is the only thing I'd say is good about the game. As soon as you hit the next maps you realize you're doing the exact same quests over and over. Kill enemy who drops a bomb. Use bomb to blow up a generator. Do this 3 times for a boss to show up and kill the boss. Mission complete. I've done this around 10 times now not including repeats with friends. And there are other quests that repeat like this.
Bosses themselves are REALLY bullet spongey and they only got 2-3 attacks. I've fought 7 bosses throughout the main story that all had the same stupid invincibility phase where 3 balls appear and you have to constantly shoot them to get rid of the invincibility. Oh and if you take too long the balls respawn. I take it back. I didn't fight 7 bosses. I fought the same boss with a different skin 7 times.
Maybe I'll keep going, maybe I won't. I hope there'll be a change, but it's Nexon so I doubt it. Others have already touched on the grind aspect so I won't say anything bout that. It's all true.

Was gonna redownload this and tell my friends to do so for the first time cause I wanted a random survival game to play. Since when was there a price? I can't introduce this game to others when it has a price tag and they already have minecraft.

I'll preface by saying that I can run this game pretty smoothly. I'm one of the lucky few that don't crash, but I understand that I'm a minority. I'm rating the game low for a different reason.
The game's combat is really good, but that's about all that's good about it. The story is EH, and many of the side quests are terrible. It's always go over here to deliver something or talk to someone, or maybe escort. All of them suck because traveling in this game is a chore. Itsuno didn't want fast travel and argued that it's an excuse for bad traveling and that games who did it are boring. Congrats man. You have both. You have limited fast travel based on item usage of a rare resource that costs 10k gold and is sparingly found, AND terrible travel in general. If your next goal doesn't have an oxcart leading to it you could spend hours getting to your destination. That's not a good thing. Was the demographic Itsuno going for people who no life games? Cause some people aren't free enough to spend hours of their free time on a walking simulator with the occasional combat. It woulda been nice if stamina was infinite outside of combat, but we don't even get that luxury. Imagine you only got 2 hours to yourself of free time due to either work or family. You pop into Dragon's Dogma 2 and your whole session of gameplay was just you walking halfway to where you needed to go.
Itsuno certainly made the masterpiece of a game he wanted to release in 2012, but it's 2024 and most of the game's mechanics and systems are dated. Single save file. Limited fast travel. Losing max HP on any form of damage forcing you to stop whatever you're doing just to camp. The removal of some really popular vocations. This game is open world, but it doesn't benefit from it, you're better off just doing the main story first. The cherry on top is your pawn getting covid and killing off every NPC in your vicinity if you don't notice it.
The combat is fun, but that's about it. Only get this game on discount and if you have a lot of free time. It was not worth the 10+ year wait.
EDIT: New update dropped and I did crash. Horrible.

Palworld is fantastic. For those wondering why some Pals look similar to Pokemon, the lead designer of the Pals was a Fakemon artist. Most of the designs are original whilst some take heavy inspiration from either Pokemon or real life. It's sad to see people clamor about "rip offs" when it comes to Direhowl/Lycanroc or Jolthogg/Shaymin considering those are literal Wolves and Hedgehogs respectively. And it's like that for various other Pals based on real animals.
Now for the game itself, it's survival with a massive open world. The world isn't procedural generated, but I honestly can't see how that would work considering the wild Pals. It'd be impossible to get the Pal you want if the world was completely random. It can be quite grindy, but not Craftopia or ARK stupid levels of grindy. It honestly feels like if Pokemon ditched the turn based combat (and actually gave a damn about performance and graphics) this game would be it.
If you like Survival games, try it out. If you like Pokemon then there's something for you here as long as you ignore the fanboys who clamor about copycats and whatnot.

We'll get that DLC debacle outta the way. This game originally came out January for Japanese audiences. They didn't have DLC at launch so they slowly rolled them out. It wouldn't be fair to have a "complete edition" when that audience probably payed for each one as they came out especially since not even a year has passed. People like to compare the DLC situation to 5 when that game was out for 3 years before coming to Steam. You can enjoy this game without DLC. It's really only there if you like legacy characters.

Aight now for the review. This game is easily one of my favorites in the franchise. The story is leagues better than whatever they were trying to do in 5. Voice acting is especially good, but there we some audio issues when even if you max the voice and event volume they get REALLY quiet.
Gameplay is the usual Disgaea gameplay. You like the typical TRPG style they go for then you're fine. The Jumbo mechanic is pretty interesting. Getting huge, buffing your team, and being able to aoe smack anyone on the map is a nice gimmick. The switch to 3D was jarring (I skipped 6 cause it's garbo.) but I understand why they did it. 2d art is expensive as hell and having every character redrawn from 4 different angles would be excessive each entry. The 3D is fine, but the animations lack a lot of fluidity and kick. Like with 2D your brain fills in the gaps while in 3D you see it as it is. They'll hopefully improve it with time. Item World has been made so that you don't need to climb 100 floors. Good.
My only qualms with the game is that they don't have the color customizing from 5 and the fact that Asagi isn't in the game RIP. This game I'd give an 8/10, but if they add Asagi then it'll become 9/10.

The first wall in this game is the paywall. Behind it is a brilliant game. Should KingsIsle make the first arc completely free it would hook so much more players. I didn't even consider paying monthly until they temporarily made the first arc free. I actually was able to play a good chunk of the game and invested myself into it.
Can I recommend this game? If you aren't committed to another MMO I would say yes, but if you got a whole load of other games you wanna play I would say no because monthly payments make you feel like you're on a time limit, which you are. Should KingsIsle ever make the first arc free permanently I would get back into the game even though I've FAR surpassed that point.

I really enjoy this game despite the issues. It has a good gameplay loop. I'm not recommending it however because I do not want to support the new standard that people seem to have accepted. Where games are full price and broken at launch. Anytime someone defends this garbage, they say the same thing, "It's not expected for games to work on launch. It'll be fixed eventually."
WHAT
When was this normal?
The devs mentioned near launch that they'd have a patch to fix performance ready by next week. It's now next week and the recent patch, 1.0.3 didn't do anything except maybe help high end rigs(maybe because some of them still have issues). While they didn't technically lie, it's blatantly misleading and I honestly think it was meant to deter people from refunding this game.
The practice of shipping a broken game needs to stop.

EDIT: It's been two months since the release. If you're wondering if performance is fixed. The only thing they fixed was the slow motion when doing anything. Game still stutters and has massive frame drops, but now it can freeze and crash... IN THE MENUS of all things. If this game were to go on discount for half off... I still wouldn't buy. The game is fun, but you have to sift through loads of crap to get to the fun.

TLDR: Imagine you wanna eat a delicious cake, but it's covered in feces. You have to wipe the feces off the cake. You clean it off and take a bite... only to realize that there's feces mixed into the cake as well. And at that point you realized you could've done literally anything else that wasn't spending $70 and your time on this game.

Fantastic expansion. The new Switch Skills and monsters make this expansion well worth its cost. My only wish was that I got them sooner instead of MR 4. The NPCs are actually more involved now instead of in World where it seemed like you were the only one fighting everything.
Most of the negative reviews come from people who have crashes or bugs. Not to say these problems don't exist, but these people usually don't change their review even after the issues have resolved so I don't think it's fair as it isn't really a review on the expansion itself, but rather the fact they can't play the expansion.
