For everyone looking for a slow burning, cosmic horror story, this is the game for you. It's not long, but it's full of character. A true Lovecraftian cosmic horror story, with a sorrowful and moody atmosphere, the existential dread underlying everything.

The only con I could think of was it ended too soon.

Early Access Review
If you love looter hack'n'slash games, this is the game for you.

It has everything that makes a diablo-like compelling:
- interesting (and yet familiar) classes with many specializations and customizable skills,
- if you want to respec or switch your build, you can absolutely do it (with a certain effort, but still),
- a lot of loot (the game is not stingy with it, that's for sure) ,
- fleshed out crafting that gives you a lot of control over desired results (even the lowly magic item with 1-2 affixes can be useful and turned into a powerful upgrade),
- a decent storyline,
- a beautiful world filled with good looking monsters,
- a well done endgame (that will only become better).

Overall, I absolutely recommend Last Epoch, even during the Early Access period. The devs are very communicative and responsive to the community's feedback, which only helped to make this game better.

It's very rare for me to buy a game I've only just discovered. What drew me, was the promise of Diablo mixed with TES-grade open world and freedom. So far the game delivers these promises. It's worth noting, that from what I gathered the "living open world" component is more pronounced than Diablo's mass hack'n'slash part.

You start as a deceased soul in the afterlife from the Slavic mythology. You can choose your identity: your profession (for example a soldier), your motivation to return to the lands of living (buying your brother from slavery) and then the god of the Underworld sends you back to the land of the living.

From there the world is your playground. Fight the monsters, gather the materials to use for alchemy, cooking, upgrading your equipment, take on and complete the quests (many of them can be finished in different ways, which affect the world). The more you use your skills, the stronger they become.

Sooner or later you die. But then you have the possibility to come back again: as a completely different person with a completely different motivation and skillset. Your character is reborn at the same char level the previous one died.

I have only began to scratch the surface of this game and I really like what I see. No buyer's remorse here.

A cosmic horror story - told from the perspective of a cosmic horror. Interesting and refreshing.

H. P. Lovecraft's "Dagon" was my first foray both into the cosmic horror genre and the Cthulhu Mythos as a kid. I still remember how awesome and genuinely creepy the short story was.

This game is an adaptation of the above mentioned story and it's very, very good. The narrator's voice, the music and the visuals do the story full justice. Of course it's not very long, being based on a short story, but it's masterfully done nonetheless.

I can safely say that the next time I re-read "Dagon", I will hear the narrator's voice and see the world as portrayed in the game - and it will be a perfect experience.

The game to lose yourself in for hundreds or thousands of hours. There are so many planets in this game that no one will be able to discover them all.

Explore, obtain and upgrade your starships (every single one is unique), your weapons, your tools, your exosuit, befriend pets, breed them to get a perfect specimen, find your home planet to build your awesome base on, trade, manage settlements, become a pirate.

It's all up to you.

Early Access Review
Though it's still in Early Access, V Rising is a quite engaging open world survival crafting game.

Your character is a vampire, only recently risen from the centuries-long slumber. Weakened and almost fully depowered, you discover that the world you knew is no more. Long ago you were a powerful vampire lord and you ruled over humanity - but it's all gone. While you were gone, human civilization has taken a hold over the land and deep in the woods the old evils arose anew. If you want to retake your glory, you have your work cut out.

As a vampire you need to build yourself the place to rest and some crappy cave just won't do. You need to build a castle to house your power base.

You need to feed - every living thing can be drained of blood (and the beneficjal effects of the blood you drink vary from mob to mob). You need to stay out of the light of day - move during the night or stick to the shadows during the day, or you end up disintegrated. In the course of playthrough you will be able to learn shapeshifting: wolf, bear, rat or bat. Every shapeshift has their own uses.

You need to grow in power - you need to track and destroy powerful bosses to unlock your vampiric abilities (every boss gives something else). You need to get an armor and weapons, so you want to raid the settlements for the materials and recipes. Craft potions and elixirs to give yourself an edge in the fights - and you WILL need it. The bosses are demanding, but quite doable. In combat you use various spells (dodges, sields, offensive spells) and weapon skills. Each weapon gives different skills, you need to tailor your loadout to demands of the current fight.

Since a big part of the game is multiplayer, you can share the map with up to 4 players - cooperate or destroy each other at your convenience. I admit I'm not the fan of multiplayer (mostly solo), so I can't say anything more, but from what I read, people really like it.

If you're a fan of open world survival crafting, vampires and Uberwald/Ruritania themed worlds, you won't be disappointed.

A very well done open world survival crafting game set in the universe of Conan The Barbarian.

This is one of these games you could play for hundreds or thousands of hours and still want to come back for another replay.
