There have been pages and pages worth of negative reveiws and complaints made about this game over the past year, and many of them are entirely understandable. Bathesda severely crippled many of the RPG elements from previous games, dialogue has been equally dumbed down, and the story is a little lacking. However, people also severly overlook what Fallout 4 has done well. The gunplay and V.A.T.S is easily the best in the series, and weapon costomization is done very well. The entire scavenging is straightforward and "just works." Fallout 4 also added player-built housing and settlements for the first time in the franchise, and this was met with many communnity complaints. "Why would a self-interested wastelander bother to help strangers" or "settlements tie you down in an otherwise open world game," but for many, myself included, the settlements allow you to rebuild a destroyed Commonwealth to your liking with mechanics that allow for high customization with ease. For those who simply cannot stand the settlements, they are entirely optional after one quest. Additionally, Fallout 4 has small side stories and lore easter eggs much like its predecessors. Character customization is again the best in the series, and the main character is now voiced, which may bother more hardcore RPGers. Overall, Fallout 4 has lost some of the classic "Fallout Feel" of the old games, but it makes huge gains in graphics, gunplay, and player intereaction with the wasteland. 8/10. Would Play Again.
